Thank you.
If you already have HID from factory, I see no reason to change anything. But if you have the base model like I do which do not come with HID and comes with ugly yellow halogens then you are left with getting aftermarket HIDs (which for most part are not so reliable) or LEDs (which are newer technologies when it comes to using it for headlights) and supposedly more reliable.
It's a big step up from ugly halogens in looks and performance as my pictures shows.
sacchoe: It's been about a month since the install - How are you liking the LED lights? Would you recommend them over the halogens?
Did you ever get the brand from Korea?
What about the day time running lights, anyone put LEDs on there? I really want to swap those out and put yellow fogs. Anyone know the bulb types ?
I believe that the DRLs are the high beam lamps on reduced voltage. There is not a dedicated bulb for the DRLs.
Ahh, ok. What about the fogs
With the time change and days getting longer, I haven't gotten chance to use the headlight much. However, I definitely like them more than halogens. They have a really nice looking white with slight blueish color to them and they instantly come on and off. In real world testing, they seem to put about the same brightness as the halogens. HIDs would be much brighter I think. But no flickering light the HIDs or complications (it was just a bulb replacement).
I had that concern too but at least the LEDs I put on seem to work well. When he showed me the demo with halogens on one side and my LEDs on other it clearly showed light to be sharp focused and brighter.
On VLEDS.COM they have LED headlight kits, these have built in fans.
I have heard that they do not work well with projector style lenses as opposed to reflector style which work better. Won't know til I try, but I am not spending $120 to try.
