If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Has anyone here installed there own subs into a 2015 Genesis sedan? Where did you put the inline converter? How does the truck liner come out? I see the battery and fuse panel is back there so I should be able to get my power and power on fairly easy.

I did it in about 2 hrs. I downloaded the wiring schematic from the hyundaitechinfo website and tapped the lines at the amp. I have the tech package, there are three different amps (base, lexicon 14 speaker and lexicon 17 speaker) and the wiring is different on all three.

works great, i got the amp turn on lead as well, the stock lexicon system doesn't need anything particularly large or strong to boost that missing bottom octave. I bought a JBL ms-basspro sq 10" and the amp gain is at about 10-15%. anything more than that and all you hear is bass.

Thanks for the information! Where is the amp for the system located at, if you don't mind me asking.

I have the same options on my 15 and would also like to install a sub. Would you mind emailing me the wiring schematic or posting it here.

the amp is in the driver's side rear trunk area. once you remove the driver's side trunk liner it'll be pretty easy to spot. it's between the wheel well and the tail light.

alexolewis, I printed them out from the site, but i can't find the pdf. if i can find it i'll send it.

Are the following details correct?
1) The sub can be power connected directly to the battery that is in the trunk.
2) The signal connections can be made to the correct wiring into the amp (my sub has it's own built-in amp) and again in the trunk.
3) Is there a switch on/off signal cable connected to the cars amp?

If so, this is all very convenient. It means not having to run cables to the hood or to the rear of the head unit. Can you upload the wiring details here? Maybe I should splash some cash and make sure I get the correct details from the Hyundai site. Mine is a European model and has the 14 speaker system

yes to all three. I didn't have to touch anything in the cabin or under the hood. the turn-on lead to the stock amp can be used. i'd suggest using the site, there were 4-5 different pinouts, not sure if the euro is the same. don't forget to fuse the battery lead and the turn-on lead.

Where's the on/off switch? I had to use a line converter with remote turn on.

How difficult is it to get under the liner in the trunk? I look inside it and have no idea where to even start. Haha

First remove the floor cover ...you should be able to get at the bottom of the side cover...pull from the bottom edge the side cover has snaps that need to be released.........just take your time

found the wiring courtesy of google hosted on this very site. please note that the pins are not shown in the order they are connected on the harness, the numbers show their position on the harness. I assume you know better than to use the B+ and Ground connections labelled here, use the battery for B+ and make a ground. I used the bolt that holds the side trim down as ground once I sanded a bit around the bolt hole in the body for good contact.

the positive speaker cable is green/blue stripe and is on the bottom left of the connector at position 22. the wire next to it is the negative for the speaker. the pink wire on position 7 at the top row is the remote turn on signal.

Again, this is for the cars with the 14-speaker lexicon system only. this means signature or tech packages. base cars and ultimates have different pinouts on the harness.

Did you use a line out converter for this or did you tie your app directly into your factory sub? I tried doing this with a line out converter, everything turned out but no bass out of my sub.

I used an amp that had speaker level inputs so I didn't need an external LOC. check power to the LOC. you can always check your inputs by connecting an external speaker to it and checking for sound. if you have sound there, next suspect is the LOC.

Are you confident blue orange is positive and grey black is negative?

I Have A 15' 3.8 With The 14 Speaker System. I Used A LC2i Active Line Out Converter Because It Already Has A Remote Out And The AccuBass Technology. I Tapped Into The White Connector I Wanna Say It Was A Brown And Green Wires I Would Post Pics But MY Car Is At The Dealership. I Used Some T-Taps That Connect As A Spade Connector And Ran Them To The LC2i. I Added 2 Skar Audio 800w 12s With A Skar Audio 2000w Amp. Some Would Say Its Overkill But I Don't Feel Like I Miss Out On Any Vocals.

Next I Plan On Adding An EpiCenter To Restore Bass.

LC2i -$100
2000w Amp -$240
(2)SVR-12s -$260
Ported Box -$130
Wiring Kit -$100

How do I turn off noise cancelation so I don't get the speaker rumble?

The 2015 Genesis does not have noise cancellation that pump out of the radio speakers. The radio on my 2015 5.0 Ultimate just have controls for surround sound, EQ and the audio level based on speed. I do not have any rumbling noise in my speakers with my 15in subwoofer other than bass.

It sounds like you may have some interference or additional noise from a bad connection.
