  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello everyone I recently bought a 2010 3.8 genesis coupe. I was wondering which type of cold air intake would be best for this specific car. Thanks.

The one that doesn't suck up puddles.

It happens and it'll destroy your engine when it does. You can get a SRI with a heat shield that's a lot safer. Just make sure you have plenty of air getting to it.

This is just my opinion here but if you take your time and set it up correctly a true Cold Air Intake will not suck up puddles unless you drive in water 3 foot deep and in which case sucking up water is only one of your concerns.
A short ram intake is 100% likely to pull in hot air from the engine bay a shield around it helps as long as there is a fresh air stream somewhere inside the shielded area.

That being said the design of the genesis sedan does not really lend itself to CAI

So put in the sri and make sure the fresh air is still coming in.

there are a couple of options I read on this forum but the only one I can recall is the R2C Performance one
oh and weapon R comes to mind

hmm I just read that you have the coupe, duh on my part lol there should be lots of options for the coupe including true cai I think.
