Hey guys
I went to the local Genesis dealer and test drove a G70 with the 2.0T and 6MT. I have a few questions that the dealer was unable to answer.
1. What is the torsional rigidity of this car? I noticed the sunroof, which unfortunately can not be removed, used a large portion of the roof.
2. What materials are used for the vehicle's chassis, front and rear subframes?
3. What grades of high strength steels are used and in which areas?
4. Aftermarket support? The car I drove wasn't very fast...I was flooring it from gears 1-4 to keep up with local traffic.
5. What size final drive? 7 inch?
6. Is the clutch pedal adjustable? Stock setting engages right at the ending. Infact, during my test drive, I only had to push the clutch in about an inch to disengage the clutch. The remainder of the travel is useless.
7. Engine construction? (Open deck or closed deck, what items are forged, any piston oil squirters).
8. Corrosion issues? I noticed their corrosion warranty is quite short vs Euros. Euros have a 12 year corrosion warranty while the Genesis has only a 5 year warranty. Does Hyundai not adequately coat their chassis with cavity wax from the factory? Are cheap coatings used where it can't meet the 12 year guarantees?
Thanks!
