  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I was browsing the hma service web site:

hmaservice.com

I noticed on the left hand menu there is an entry for "Telematics Information". I have never seen this one before, so maybe it is new. Anyway, I click the link and enter the VIN for my car. I get detailed specs for the car, such as paint codes and engine serial number, etc...Then I scroll down and find the sections for warranty history, port installed options, and factory installed options...

Mine shows in the warranty history that the car had something done to the left front fender at the port. It is described "distorted/blurred" and in the right column it says "foreign material". I assume this means that they at least buffed out the fender or could have even possibly repainted it at the port prior to delivery. Funny though, there are no entries after delivery. I have only had it in the shop once for a warranty eligible repair, and since it was only a loose bolt, maybe the dealer did not document it as warranty. It will be interesting to see if others with more substantial warranty repairs have entries in this database...

I also see the the rear cargo tray was a port installed option...

I just figured I'd share the find with anyone who is interested. The database seems searchable even for all VIN's. Could even be a good tool for used car buyers, or even new car buyer to see the history that Hyundai has for a VIN.

Nice work RW:) I'll have to check it out today!

I found this back on october 5, 2011 for some reason i have no data for my info. no kind of service history or anything.

Great find! I go to the HMA site (and the Hyundai owners site) often... and haven't come across this. Nothing to report :)

I wish I was so lucky...

Odor from driver's seat back pocket/stain: cleaned
Stain on sun visor: cleaned
Headlights not aimed properly: Bad machining, replaced.
SCC light on: Missing part
Windshield wiper: degraded material, replaced.

That was all at the port with 0 miles on the car, a month before my dealer got it.

I'm of 2 minds on this:
1. WTF? A car comes off the assembly line with those kind of defects? How did it make the boat without somebody seeing those things first?

2. Thank goodness for the "port". It's not just a place to stage cars, but is actually the quality control for most manufacturers.

No harm, no foul. But it sure was a shock to see this.

Thanks again for heads-up!

Very nice find. My info was accurate.

Thanks for the info.

Mine had one notification:

BH SCC UNIT INSPECTION (10-041) MODULE ASSY-AUTO CRUISE N69 WARNING LIGHT ON C62 MISSING PART

This may have been at the factory as the car had 0 miles. Two weeks later is the point of entry into US and car now had 9 miles.

Sounds like mine.

Looks like I got a new head unit, amp, and nav a few months before I bought it.

What web browser are you using? I use Chrome and had the same problem. I finally broke down and clicked on Internet Explorer and the pop-up appeared and I was able to register. Thereafter I have been able to access my account with Chrome.

me too...I've given up!!

Use internet explorer. The popup does not work with Chrome.

edit: nvm --- covered above --- didn't see post on the page.

Looks like they replaced the ECU in my car at “The dealer” on first service visit because of rough idle. Didn’t even know that was done. Don’t remember having an idle issue when new. At the port only the liner, Ipod cable and net were installed no other notes. Interesting thanks.

Mine came out clean....all fields are empty

Great info to have. I saw that a cargo tray and mud flaps were installed at port, and it is nice to kwow that I can fetch my key code and pin if necessary. Also shows all the setting that are enables or disables on my vehicvle. Thanks for this info!!
