  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My rear dome light (room lighting) flickers for a while on occasion. Almost like a fluorescent bulb does as its warms up or is about to fail.

Anybody elses do the same thing? The light looks white like a fluorescent, but I am not sure if it is.

That happened to me once. Except I noticed the front dome lights flicker after the passenger opened the door to exit the vehicle.

I tried to get it to happen again but I couldn’t reproduce it.
I think the lights are LED. They shouldn’t flicker like fluorescent.

Last night both the front and rear dome lights started flickering for the first time. The rear light was turning on and off really fast, while it was less pronounced in the front light.

Have had my Genesis since August and in over 15 thousand miles, first time this happens.

I have the same problem.. Is there a fix because my dealer gave me BS about being normal.

Yup, same issue with me - dome light over the back seats flickers every now and then.

Add me to the list. If anyone has a fix please share.

Flickering is a characteristic of LED lights when they aren't necessarily seated properly. The issue is they readily show on/off because they instantly light up, vs an incandescent that needs to heat up and holds heat/light through flickers. If the problem exists with an incandescent, you don't generally notice since such minor on/offs don't really show up.

Try tapping on the light, or removing the cover and adjusting the bulb so it is better seated in the light and see if that fixes the problem (twist it back and forth a bit). If the LED lights up, its working, it just doesn't have a constant connection in the circuit, and that usually happens where the bulb meets the car.
