  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does the G70 have a disable button or control for the interior motion sensor that, I assume is activated when one locks the vehicle? My Porsches and Audis have had a button on the door that disables the interior motion sensor so that the alarm does not sound if my dog moves when he is inside and the car is locked. No, I do not leave my dog in the car when it is hot.

There is no motion sensor. Alarm is for entry points only...including the trunk.

So if someone breaks the windows there is no alarm? In a car that has such amazing electronic features it is disappointing that there is no interior motion sensor.

Tell me which ones do. Audi doesn’t.

Once that window is broken, what is the alarm going to protect? How many times has your car been broken into?

I avoid broken windows. I don't lock the car so a potential thief can open the door and see there is nothing to steal. Had that happen twice with no damage and no loss while other cars had broken windows and pry marks.

If pro wants your car, it will be gone, no matter the alarm.

I've never had a Porche but one Audi and many other brands. Never had an interior motion sensor alarm on them.

Same here and I've had Porsche's and Audi's. Never had an interior motion sensor alarm in any of them.

The motion sensor you speaking about is; a tilt motion sensor. If the car is rocker or someone attempts to pick or jack it up, the motion will set off the alarm. It's not and interior alarm.

Besides if you've got a big dog, him to grin at people looking in the car and he'll be a great deterrent on his own.

My 2015 911 Turbo S, my 2016 Panamera GTS and my 2017 Audi allroad have interior motion sensors that can be deactivated to otherwise arm the alarm. Yes, they also have tilt sensors in addition to interior motion sensors.

Probably model specific but Audi, BMW, Lexus and Mercedes (to name some) have had interior motion sensors for quite a few years.

The person with the dog in the locked car has a valid point and all of you others commenting is not helpful. There is INDEED a motion sensor that causes the alarm horn to honk when the dog moves in the locked car. And no I don’t leave my dog in a hot car either but I have to leave it unlocked when he is in my cool car. genesis told me to disable the rear seat alarm which did not have any helpful effect. My wifes BMW has a workaround to solve the same problem, so I wish Genesis would resolve it. It’s my only complaint.

Did you try disabling the rear passenger sensing feature? That should do it, but don't remember the name. There has to be a way to disable that.

All these fancy cars that didn't have one and some older Mitsubishi Outlanders had a interior motion sensor

It is awful. Left my dog in the car for a three minutes to pay for something in the gas station and it kept going on over and over. Figured out how to turn it off. It is in settings, under the “Convenience” menu. Should be called the “Inconvenience” menu!
