  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Intermittent Wiper Speed In Highway Traffic

looks like that image is flipped, so it would be on the passenger side for a North American model

In my G70 I've always agreed with the speed of the wipers and never been offended.

Do you guys have your windscreen tinted?

No tint for me. Same before applying RainX same afterwards (no change)

What sensitivity level are you guys running? I keep mine at the lowest setting most of the time.

So my scenario goes....

Setting - Mid to Low
Rain starts marginally, 50% of the time rain accumulates on window too much so...
Adjust setting to Mid-High.
Works fine, get some spray off of a car or rain marginally increases heavily for a bit, then...
Wipers go warp speed and I manually turn either to low/mid setting again or if there is enough rain, the manual low constant speed.

Rinse, repeat. Again, I don't think there is anything wrong in my case, the system only needs fine tuning or it rains slightly differently in my area than the rest of the continent. lol (j/k).

That basically describes my situation. This is the first car I've driven (I'm 62) where it's possible for wipers to vastly exceed the speed of the HI setting.

Hyper Wiper

Sorry, useless post here. Just made myself laugh. :poop:🛁

So you are in Auto?

If you are in auto where do you have the sensitivity? The more you push the selector up the more sensitive so the more they will "over react". Start and the lowest setting and see if that fixes your issue. If you get too much rain just bump the sensitivity up one notch.

This is all auto, adjusting the sensitivity for the auto function. (starting with mid to mid-low setting usually)

My point really is if I have to constantly adjust the sensitivity as described above, then it defeats the purpose of having "auto" at all and i'd rather have fixed manual intermittent settings.

My newest theory is that my stock wipers need replacement, and the minor amount of water left over from each pass is enough to affect the sensor/camera for the auto wipers. Its the same issue i've heard others with stock wipers say with the water left on the windshield some.

If new wipers fix the issue i'll post back asap. lol
