  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just upgraded to an iPhone 5s from a iPhone 4. I connected a lightning to 30 pin adapter to my Hyundai iPhone cable, but my Lexicon is not seeing my new iPhone. Is there a trick I am missing? I'm addicted to streaming music and don't want to go to a usb stick.

Yup, I have the same issue after I upgraded my iphone 5 to iOS 7.1 on the 2009 4.6 Tech, and I can confirm it does not work on the R-spec either, it appear to be an issue after Apple disabled 3rd party cables in 7.X.

My experience with this issue is very similar to this guy:

"I use my lightning to 30-pin adapter in the car to play music.

The plug in my car is 30-pin and won’t plug directly into my iphone 5. The adapter has worked fine up until recently. I update my phone OTA so I can’t say exactly when, but I’m guessing it started getting buggy after 7.0. After the 7.1 update, it won’t work at all anymore. Basically instead of playing music through my car speakers when plugged in, the music will come directly out of the phone’s speakers. I tested to make sure it wasn’t my car accessory by plugging in an older 30-pin ipod and it worked just fine"

Thank heavens the Mrs is more than fine with a USB stick in the 4.6 and I am more than happy the Jukebox as well as iPhone BT streaming in the R-Spec ;)

My backup plan was to use an old 3GS as an Ipod which works just fine on both cars.

For anyone with the same problem, I got an official Apple 30 pin lightning adapter and I am now able to stream music from my iPhone 5S. Generic from Amazon had not worked. Good luck.
