  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Having been playing with my baby for a few months and going over the Owner's and Navigation manuals, there are a few things I still just CANNOT figure out, so I'm gonna do a couple of posts and see if our collective knowledge can solve them. I'm betting they will lead to others' questions so I refuse to feel too piggish in seeking our collective HELP!

So, first one is: iPhone as default for an incoming call.

My iPhone 5 works perfectly with my car EXCEPT that calls do not automatically default to playing through the CAR. In the car my iPhone goes right in the chargers-slot in front of the shift [fits perfectly per help from one of us] and often BUT NOT ALWAYS gets plugged into the USB port to charge [on a short cord I got at suggestion of one of us! ;)]

When a call comes in, it shows on the NAV screen but MOST OF THE TIME when I press Accept, instead of automatically playing THROUGH THE CAR, it plays ON THE PHONE. "HandsFree" to switch to the car will show as an option on the NAV screen, but I don't see why, when the phone is in the car plugged in or not IT DOESN'T AUTOMATICALLY PLAY THROUGH THE CAR WHEN I HIT ACCEPT.

I'm not sure if whether car or phone picks it up changes depending on if it's plugged in to charge or not, or if this is irrelevant to problem.

The ONLY thing the Nav Manual says is on p. 96, "If you want to switch the call to the mobile while talking on the car handsfree, press [Use Private] {which is what is shown on the NAV screen}. If you want to switch the call to the car handsfree while talking on the mobile phone, press [Use Handsfree] {which is what shows on the NAV screen.

HELP me make CAR the default choice?! THANKS :grouphug:

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Are you hitting accept on your phone or through the car (steering wheel or touch screen)...if you hit it on your phone it defaults to Private mode.

I recommend removing the phone completely (un-pair it) then reconnect it via Bluetooth again to see if that fixes your issue. I have a 5.0 Ultimate and it works great with no issues.

Good question! Hitting it on NAV screen NOT phone. BUT will try to accept through WHEEL and see if that makes difference. Thanks!

Having the phone plugged in via the USB and paired via Bluetooth may be the issue. I have not used mine that much while it is plugged in via USB. But while just on Bluetooth and not plugged in it seems to work correctly when receiving and making phone calls.
