  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've got a 2012 Genesis 3.8 with Premium and Tech packages. I just got the care a few weeks ago and immediatly found that the iPod aux port was bad and had the dealer replace that.
Now all works well except that if I switch to use the radio (FM or AM) and switch back to the iPod, I get no sound. The CD continues to work. And I don't have the problem if I switch to the CD and back. Just switching to the radio and back causes me to lose sound from my iPod.
The only solution I have found is to turn the car off and back on. Just turning the audio off and back on does not work.
Anybody else experiencing this? Anybody have any solutions?
Thanks

Just found out that I can also resolve the problem if I unplug my iPod from the cable and plug it back in (while driving naturally). Of course then, no matter what else I'm listening to, it immediately switches to the iPod. But at least I can hear it.
Blah!

Have you tried using a USB instead of an IPOD? Works wonderful

Re: iPod problems: usb cord weirdness

I just picked up a used Gen 6 ipod (refurbished). Came with what looks like a new USB connector. I find this weird:
1. the included USB does not connect the ipod to the genny at all...zip
2. the Hyundai iPod cable connects it as an AUX input with no controls of the ipod, but it plays, like you plugged into the earphone jack of the ipod
3. the USB cable from apple that came with my iPhone 4S works completely with the ipod with total control of the ipod and screen display of album covers on the nav screen.

I just though I'd note this in case anyone else has wasted time scratching their head about it.

That is weird. You still have a component problem. I have a 2012 Tech, and it works perfectly with my iPhone 5 (and former iPhone 4).
