Is Genesis sedan too low?

I have a TL and the bottom front bumper keep hitting the curb when I pull into parking lot. Since Genesis is as long as TL (or 2 inches longer) with similar ground clearance, I'm afraid I will have same issue.

Anybody experience this issue? Is it too low for you?

Hmm I'm not sure but if you backed in, it would be safer. And backing in is very easy if you get the back up camera premium package. Now I back in everywhere and not worry about it (but I don't have the tech package so I don't have front sensors, so that's the main reason why I back in.) Better safe then sorry lol but yeah it is lower then my Lancer I had so I'll assume it would hit it if too close to it.

If the curb is that high, the sensors usually catch it and warn you.

i don't have any issues with my car. it seems to be similar to all other sedans i've owned.

It certainly is a valid concern...it sure could mess up a very nice looking front end. I have assumed that my sensors would warn me. I will test it with some 2 X 4's in the driveway.

Here are the results of the parking assist testing on my 2012 3.8 w/ Tech

I used a stack of wood at various heights. The length of the stack was 46" (probably close to the length of concrete parking barriers).

I first measured the front end clearance.

The very front edge of the black plastic piece is 6 3/4" above the ground (and then tapers closer to the ground)
The very front edge of the painted bumper is 8 1/2" above the ground
Note: The ground clearance spec I found is 5.2"

During the test, as soon as my parking assist beeped, I stopped the car and then measured the distance from the front/center face of the bumper to the stack of wood.

Stack height / Distance-bumper to wood

5"/ No beep but the green warn light came on
5 1/2" / Beep at 14"
6 1/4" / Beep at 15 1/2"
7 1/8" / Beep at 17"
7 7/8" / Beep at 17 1/2"
8 7/8" / Beep at 17"

The other day at a parking lot, I didn't get any beeps for a concrete parking piece that was approx. 5" tall (and ground clearance spec is 5.2").

I am pleased with the above results, but my care and attention will not completely relax as I move the car close to any concrete barrier.

I hope the results of my test are easy to understand.

Yes, the front of the car (and air dam) is way too low and you will scrape against curbs or those parking things in parking lots. Some guys got large scrapes on that lower portion and had to get it repainted. In my case, I've scraped a couple times, but I got lucky and the scrapes are very low and can only be seen if you bend down and look for them.

The design of the front is too low.

Almost every nice car I can think of is low enough to get damged on concrete barries if the driver is careless....the nice thing about the Genny is that it alerts the driver (if they have the park assist system).
