  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Did anyone notice that there is a tape between rear door and fender?
It looks like a protective tape from factory.
Is it safe to remove it?

If you mean the clear protective film, yes you can remove it, but I would not recommend it. Many new cars have this from the factory. It's meant to protect against rock chips.

Be careful... my neighbor had the 3M film applied at the factory on his vehicle and when he peeled it off willy nilly, the clearcoat came off with it in spots. If you insist on removing it, heat it up slightly first and pull slowly.

Thank you. I will just leave it on.

yeah there was tape everywhere on this car. Open the sunroof and look at the wind deflector from outside of the car, there is blue tape there, peel it off. Any of it that is blue, or looks like saran wrap and can come off easily, take off. The hard plastic looking tape that you are referring to is not meant to be removed.

That tape that jy104 was talking about is there for a purpose. It protects from small stones and sand (or salt in the Salt Belt). It is in an area that get hammered by stuff from the road.

Leave it there.
