Well I googled it and it looks like some extra 3rd party lojack not associated with Genesis. I would get rid of that asap.Ah, maybe that's it. They already registered it for me, and I went and tried to re-register it to myself.
They did not sit down with me and do it.
Stargard is basically "find my car". In case someone stole it or you forget where on earth you parked.
You might want to do a CARFAX on it. 100 mi. seems a bit excessive. Is this normal or has my dealer sold me a used car and told me it was new? It has 100 miles on it.
Maybe it was supposed to be Asgard. Thor would know. How much did they charge you?Nope.. regular dealer, and I have an 818 credit rating. They just handed that over and said, here you have stargard.
Theres nothing normal about a dealer installing something extra like this, not telling you and charging you. Especially since the car already comes with GPS tracking FREE for 3 years through Genesis Connected Services. This is a scam plain and simple and I would raise hell in person, via emials, and through reviews until they gave me my money backDamn, I just went through the paperwork and they did charge me for that. My fault for not reading close enough.![]()
Extremely sleazy on the dealer's behalf. Might be the kind of thing one would want to let others know about.Theres nothing normal about a dealer installing something extra like this, not telling you and charging you. Don't be shy, let us know who the dealer is. I've know other dealer that have done such things for a few extra bucks.Yeah, I just called the salesman and asked him - he said "We install that on every vehicle". I'm going there today and will ask that it be removed.

sounds staged, cops do not respond to LoJack alerts, you must go to them, with the LoJack info, they will validate who you are, then they will activate their equipment to home in on your vehicle.Re: Lo-Jack. I bought a used Infiniti which had been purchased new by a doctor in NYC environs. The car was 70,000$ new. Lo-jack was installed and I was told by the seller. At a service visit to my local Infiniti dealer I made a random comment to the advisor about it and he said the Lo-Jack rep was in the showroom speaking to sales staff. I strolled into the showroom and joined the group. A former police officer was the Lo-Jack rep and his younger female an assistant. The rep was showing the technology and offered to take us on a demonstration. I joined the staff in the van. No one questioned me. The young woman was to find an out of the way location with the test vehicle and activate the signal and the rep had the homing equipment in the car which was the same that police had in their cruisers in most parts of the country. After a few minutes he stopped and turned on the signal finder. Nothing. He went to the rear of the van to confirm the equipment was operating and...nothing. He was sweating. His test was turning into a fiasco. He broke protocol and called her to ask about the situation. The phone rang and went to voice mail. He was stumped. The car was gone. We sat there looking at each other. His phone rang. She said that she had gone to a location behind an office building and triggered the device. Within five minutes a police car was on her scene. He was talking to her when the rep called and she was not allowed to answer the phone until the cop was satisfied with her documents and explanation. Our rep then went to her location and as we entered the office park the police cruiser was leaving. She was there, safe, and she explained that the police were quite close when she triggered the signal and were on her faster than she could imagine. It was the best demonstration possible. So much so that later I wondered if the whole thing was an elaborate staging.
The van returned to the dealership and I left confident my car would be found. No one in the van ever asked me why I was there.
