Fair enough
My child support ended June 30th. So, we've been waiting for that to end before taking on anything new. She had an 06 Elantra. Pretty basic car with no options. So, we had planned on getting a new Sante Fe Limited AWD so I could sell my 99 Expedition (my snow tires for the GTO).
On our first dealer recon trip, there was a black & tan Genesis 4.6 on the showroom floor. I was intrigued. Sales guy started telling me all about the car as she was looking over numbers on their Sante Fe collection. When he went to get their inventory sheet, I took a walk over to this car.
First impression - blown away. A Hyundai? For $43k? Then he told me about the R-Spec.
Well, our Sante Fe was not at this dealer but it was on a truck. So, I did more research and reading over the next week. Unfortunately, the Sante Fe we wanted (Sonorran Red/Tan leather Limited AWD/V6) was pre-sold. Luckily for us, another dealer had one in a few days later on dealer trade.
So, we went to that dealer the next weekend when it arrived and bought it. While she was in the finance office doing paperwork, I asked if I could drive the '11 4.6 sitting on their sidewalk in "the good spot." "Sure!", he says thinking he'll get a double-sale.
I couldn't believe how nice the drive was. How nice and smooth the power was delivered through the 6-speed auto. Only negative was this was the darker silver with black leather. I'm very tired of black leather.
So, that Monday morning I called the original dealer to see if the black & tan 4.6 was still on the showroom floor. Yes! Sent him the specs on my fairly modded '06 GTO. Next day, I'm driving home the Genesis.
Still can't believe I am driving a Hyundai, much less a "luxury" Hyundai. Who knew the car was THIS nice. No regrets at all!
Yes, our garage has that new car smell
