  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Ran across this video of a Canadian Genesis dealer. See if you can pick out some really interesting options on this model. I’m not sure but I’ve never seen such features obviously they must be unique to Canadian models maybe one of our Canadian users can confirm.
1. Front facing camera
2. Power folding mirrors (2011 model year)
3. Power trunk release and close
4. Performance and height adjustable shocks from DIS system
5. Very elaborate control system in rear seat center arm rest
6. Red reflectors on inside back of front doors
Don’t really understand the packaging scheme since there’s no radar windows in front for the smart cruise control. Does that mean It’s not a Tech Package or does the Canadian Tech Package come without the smart cruise. The wheels are not the Tech Package wheels as I know them. So is this some Premium Package level? Can somebody shed some light on this?

Looks like a Korean domestic model to me, unless our friends to the north have been keeping a secret.

Sure that's not an Equus? Those first 5 options are on the Equus, stateside.

Russian model? The rear tag is european width and the phone number of the Hyundai dealer on the tag is in Russia. (8552) 39-25-25.Here is dealer's website http://www.tavto.ru/autosalon/chelny/

It is a Genesis, but it has adjustable suspension, so definitely not Canadian (or US) model.

I can assure you that it is not a Canadian model.
We have nothing close to the options available on that car in the video.

Interesting it's a "Genequus"

Would love the power trunk and seat controls in the rear.

This is either in Russia or from Russia. There is a glimpse of the rear license plate area, which shows a Russian logo (I transliterate here): TTS TransTekhServis (translation Trans/Transport Tech Service):

Good point indeed it does appear to be of Russian origin although the original video did say Canada. Funny marketing strategies Russian Genesis have. It would be interesting to know how they figure out what features should or must go where on export. Some of those features look mighty appealing.

The Russian version (and Middle East) appears to be the same as the KDM (Korean) version, with exception of badging.

NP, you can buy a Korean, Russian, or Middle East version of Genesis Tech Package that has those options and have it imported to the US, but you will pay close to USA Equus pricing by the time you get done.

Just for grins I visited the Russian dealer's website - TTS-Hyundai in Kazan' - their listed price for the 3.8 is 2,279,900 rubles, or US $78,839.63. I think you can get a Genesis for less in Cleveland.

What can I say - you Americans are spoiled with low pricing :)

Don't you watch our commercials? Most of them blather on about how we "deserve" whatever it is they're peddling. So maybe it follows that we "deserve" the low pricing. And I bet you can get a Genesis for less than US $78K in Montreal, for that matter.

I'm surprised they didn't show off the vodka cabinet.

The adjustable suspension looks nice. If Hyundai ever offered it here, it could have four settings: 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. :)

Oh sure we can! after all, the MSRP for a 2012 R-Spec including freight and taxes is only $63,084.83!
A far cry from that $78K and with a lot less features than that Russian model too! Who needs adjustable suspension anyways?
Where do I sign up! But wait! Maybe I should take a drive to Cleveland and save $20K! :D
And you can keep that heated steering wheel, not worth the $20K to me!

So here is the big question - couldn't we get some of these parts like the power trunk installed into our cars? I also would like to get my hands on (literally) that heated steering wheel the Canada guys get to enjoy.
