  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Title kinda says it all, just wanted to basically say hi everyone and ask if they're any tips from Genesis aficionados that might have some tech tips that a tech nerd might enjoy.

The oil/filter change is a hassle on the 5.0 - dealers have been known to screw it up pretty bad.

There are two large panels below the engine - the front panel covers the filter and has to be removed. The rear panel (hard to get to) covers the pan plug.
I use a Mity-Vac to suction out the oil thru the dipstick tube - greatly simplifies that aspect of an oil/filter change. That's the Mercedes way.

The coolant level is checked by the wackiest little plastic dipstick I've ever seen. It has an index notch & should be replaced carefully.

The front & rear tires are differently sized and take different pressures (33 front, 35 rear).

Lastly, in the 16 months I've had mine, I have not had a single prob. except when it got wacked by a hailstorm.

Are only 2017 model's considered "NEW"?

As always.

You just bought a 2015? New?

Oddly enough, you can still get a 2015 "brand new". So there are technically 2015, 2016 and 2017s models available - right now - brand new. :p

Congrats Sampson! What a beast you've got. What is the current millage? Have you followed Hyundai's break in period? First 600 miles, keep rev between 2k to 4k (fun with paddle shifter comes to mind). Also avoid emergency breaking. Probably more tips on break in period in owner's manual.

No, I didn't know that, hopefully, I didn't hurt anything because I've got on it a few times already :(

you aren't going to hurt anything.

"break in period"...... the never ending topic of discussion on the 911 forums.

I don't think I broke mine in properly...or at all...

Immediately after I bought it, drove it down to Ark Performance USA about 6 1/2 hours away to get it lowered. I also got on it a few times playing with a vette so...
