  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Think I am the first one to drive V8 in Virginia Beach area.

Drove 200 miles in two days & I love it !

1. Yes, awesome power ! Eat your heart out Beemers !

2. Feel very safe - fantastic brake

3. incredible sound system (After I got home, stayed in 30 more minutes just to finish my CD)

4. Nice back support. (I'd like to have more back support control though for my seat)

5. Easy to use tech pack (audio control to map)

6. Quiet interior, yes it goes well with that awesome stereo ! (dang, I really love that sound system)

Minor improvement suggestions

1. I shoudn't have to press the door opening sensor to open the door. (Lexus, as long as I have the key with me, all I have to do is just open the door - it's a small thing, but just hate pressing that small black button to open the door)

Also sensor should be on back doors, too

2. Where is the coin box? I don't smoke - trash the ash tray and give me coin box instead. (give plastic coin container that will fit on top of ash tray - won't cost Hyundai more than a buck)

3. At low speed, steering wheel was a bit too difficult to turn. Steering should be smooth and effortless at low speed and get firmer in high speed.
(Just like your d**k, it should be firm ONLY when you need it to be, like when you are dirving fast)

4. Needs better paint job, especially non-metalic paint (cum on Hyundai, you can do better than this.)

5. BOTH front seats should have a/c seat.

6. A bit jerkey transmission feel at start or at low speed. (Heard this goes away after a month or so...I hope so)

* But over all I am very happy with the price and performance of Genesis - great deal @ $42K *

PS: The dealership experence wasn't too bad. I must compliment that the sales man and the manager were trying hard to catch up with Lexus and BMW service.
(Yea, yea, Still long way to go, but not as bad as I thought)

One negative experience - As soon as I heard my V8 has arrived, I went down to check. The car was in the shop to be cleaned up.
But when I got there, there were 4 guys with oil all over their body drinking and eating inside of my car enjoying music. They all fled when I got there
I understand they were all admiring this car and enjoying before give it up. But.... at least I hope they clean their hands before get in.
I still have black oil mark on ceiling and side door cloth... (they kept the inside sun roof door open so I didn't see the oil mark when I pick up the car. )
Not happy with this. I'll ask the dealer to clean this oil smear next time I visit the dealer.

If Hyundai wants to keep the same Hyundai name for Genesis, I hope they at least have different customer service division to take care of Genesis customers

Kids, that's what you call a "metaphor."

Agree on the transmission start and on the ashtray. My paint job is excellent though. What color do you have?

How do you find the suspension?

I have Silver (dark) which is not bad.

But the black color (V6) had rough finish.
Surface was not smooth at all. (I don't know if rough finish is the new look in auto styling, but I like glassy clean surface that i can see my self)

I'm not that picky on suspension, fine with me.
Not too tight not too loose

Funny, I have seen posts about black paint having an orange peel effect. I have a black paint job, and it is perfect. Silver was a great pick.

I am getting used to the suspension, but I really find in our poor roads that it doesn't work well on a road that has dips or heaves. Nuf said, I am getting tired of saying it.

Some new comments:

1) When you turn the car off, the bluetooth signal for the phone drops. In my TL it didn't.
2) The nav package does have a nice feature where you can pick the destination location on the map and lock it in.

As I get older, I find myself leaning toward more smooth ride rather than sproty feel. I really don't need to feel all the rocks and small pot holes on the road anymore.

I suspect younger generation wants more stiff, sporty feel.
But I doubt very much any younger kids will buy Genesis. Most likely 40s and over will be the Genesis's main customers.

So in the future I think Genesis should go along the line of Lexus feel rather than BMW

I haven't played with all the tech stuff.., didn't hook up blue tooth or ipod yet.
