What's notable is that, as a rule, I'm not really that much of a 'car guy'. That said, my last two cars were special orders from the BMW factory in Munich, and I do have an appreciation for thoughtful engineering and precision manufacturing. (I lead product development teams in the disk drive industry, which is an uber-tech business that tends NOT to be rewarded much by Wall Street, but is cutting-edge nonetheless.)
But there's
something about this Genesis...even after seven weeks, I still smile as I get behind the
wheel of this car. Between the smooth ride, mellow voice commands, laid-back layout of the controls, KICK-ASS audio, intrinsicly-pretty exterior design (not to mention a number of carefully-deliberated
aftermarket mods), this car continues to exceed my expectations at every turn (figuratively and literally).
I can't help but chuckle as I read the venomous comments about the Hyundai corporation that invariably follow any and all on-line reviews of this car. Man, some people take this stuff WAY too seriously! For my part, I'm still on the look-out for another vehicle that offers all this content for a comparable amount of money. So far, I can't see anything that's even in the neighborhood of Genesis 'value-wise', and I challenge any reader to disabuse me of my errant thinking, if you can.
