  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

...and my only regret is that I logged that many miles in just over five months (and the corollary concern that I've used up 10% of my extended warranty already...yikes!).

Man, those miles went by fast (pun mostly intended)! But every one has been a pleasure, and I look forward to racking up >100,000 more in this very same car. This continues to be the most enjoyable vehicle I've owned after 35 years behind the wheel. Family and friends no longer ask me if I miss my BMWs.

70% of my miles are the result of driving to my lake home virtually every weekend. Even though it's just 85 miles away, my annual mileage has effectively doubled from 10K to 20K/year since I bought it. Fortunately, my average speed for at least half of the overall miles is ~85 MPH, so hopefully overall wear is below average.

Anybody else exercising their odometers at this rate?

Uh, thanks for the tip, Poopsie...I might have forgotten oil changes, etc. without that reminder.

Well, I was talking more like

-Air Filter
-Spark Plugs
-Rear Axle oil
-Fuel Filter
-Coolant
-Brake Fluid

According to the manual, some calls for lifetime fluid. I never trust lifetime fluid/parts.

Any at ALL even ... like ... a stitch in the floor in the back right corner of the trunk that you'd never see but somehow you dropped a quarter back there and when you found it you were like ... hm...

?

Yup, please post all of your "ups i dropped my quarter" accidents.

Thanks!

Have you had any issues with the car Musher???

Technically, yes. Compared to other new cars I've bought over the past 20 years (mostly BMW), no.

I did take the car back to the dealer early on as I was hearing wind/road noise through the driver's door. Turns out the gasket/seal on that door was poorly installed/twisted, so that was easy to fix.

I'm also having some trouble with the fuel door not opening consistently (the subject of a thread on this site), so I'm gonna have the plunger replaced by the dealer in a couple of weeks.

Beyond that, my only complaints are a handful of design issues that have also been documented elsewhere on this site (poor drainage that allows water into the trunk when it's opened after rain or a wash, etc.). But none of these issues are "deal-breakers" in any way. I'm really enjoying this car (much more than most cars I've owned at the 10K mile mark), and I'm very impressed by Hyundai's effort on this car.
