Just received my Genesis license plate frame from Hyundai!

Out of curiosity, did anyone who DIDN'T fill out that survey receive a frame?

I got my frame about 6 weeks ago and I haven't filled out any survey forms. I have the frame sitting on a shelf and still have't made up my mind to put it on. I'm not sure that I would like the looks of it. Does anyone have a photo of it on the car?

My Dad received his a while ago, he wants just the regular Genisis one though. Might have to just get it for him and sneak it onto his car lol.

This is a great marketing ploy though. He really thinks that Hyundai has overcame the negative stereotype, especially since the Genisis make his second Hyundai, he also has an 02 Santa Fe for his DD.

My dealer here in Seattle has 2 for $32.00, Not a bad price.

I just bought my used Genesis this Friday.... If anyone has one of these plates, and doesn't want it - PM me. I assume the one that was offered in July is already gone.

I guess I should change my status to having a Genesis now..

I just want to point out that while I can see the logic of not wanting to provide free advertising for a product without compensation (not that I agree with it, but I see it), there is a benefit from such advertising: it can result in better sales, which enables the product to continue to exist and improve.

Good point dataguy, but you missed the most important reason here. Someone might want to promote this product to help improve their investment. People's perception of the car will affect resale value.

My guess would be that Hyundai Motors America and Hyundai Auto Canada have different marketing arms and budgets. Even on the cars, the features and option packages are slightly different between the markets.

I guess that Dataguy is correct in his assumption.

I contacted Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. requesting information about the procedure to follow to obtain the Genesis licence plate frames and was told that" The accessory you speak of was provided by Hyundai Motor America in the United States and is not affiliated with Hyundai Auto Canada. We apologize for any inconvenience.

It's actually Hyundai Motors America that is sending out the North American Car of the Year license plate frames. It doesn't have anything to do with whether you fill out the JD Power & Associates initial quality survey or not, since some people have gotten it without filling out the survey.

Good move...not only is it not tied to a survey, but the free frame only goes to U.S. owners.
