  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a V6 Genesis. After the car was parked all day, the door would not open with the keyless entry. The door was opened with the key, I used the smart key in the slot and got the car started. The radio and other electronics did not work until after driving about 10 minutes. It took about 20 minutes to get home. The car started just fine at theat time. Is this a battery issue? Any help will be appreciated.

That could definitely be a battery problem. Replace it and let us know.

An update. I talked to my mechanic (not a Hyundai dealer). He was not sure but thought it could be a battery saving issue and suggested checking with the Hyundai dealer. The service dept. at Hyundai said they had no idea what the problem could be and told me to see if it happened again.

The 1st time was on Wed. Well it happened agian on Saturday. Everything worked fine in the morning but the electronics did now work after leaving it parked at work for 8 hours. This time the electronics did not come back while driving. Once home, I turned the car off and immediately started it. At that time the electronics came on just fine.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I'm having the exact problem with my remote. I haven't been to the dealer yet. Will go next week, but it is only ONE of my remotes that is behaving this way. It is the one I use most of the time. The other one still works normally. I don't believe there is a battery in our remotes. I did open the malfunctioning one and saw only an electronic board.

My guess is the battery in the remote. I had this problem a while back. Problem was solved by replacing the battery in the remote.

Thanks, Richard. Did you replace it yourself? I was reluctant to start taking the electronic board out to look for a battery underneath.

I was having intermittent problems and finally figured it out. If your transponder is in the same pocket as your iPhone, (maybe any phone) the interference kills the connection. Tried this in my wife's Nissan, same thing. Put transponder in a separate pocket/purse, everything works like before. ;)

Actually, the iPhone should NEVER share a pocket with anything!
First rule of iPhone ownership is "virgin pocket" to prevent scratching.
