Last Chance tint question

OK, I am getting the car tinted tomorrow and I was curious what you folks thought.

Gettign 40% Huber Optik Ceramic tint.

Thinking of the getting the sunroof done, but since it has the interior cover I am questioning the need. Thoughts?


299 for the car, 25 for the sunroof.

Never heard of anyone getting the sunroof tinted. But if you like to leave the cover open so that you get the true "moon roof" effect, it may not be a bad idea.

I'm not sure, but my guess is that if you want to keep the car cool in direct sunlight, getting the sunroof done makes sense (the cover probably does not block much of the heat getting in).

The most important thing, though, is that you post pictures when it's done!

I think the roof is already factory tinted, although I don't know how much and whether it does much as far as solar control.

Slim to none, but it helps somewhat. I've always done my sunroofs/moonroofs since I always have extra film around, plus adding one more window that's solar/UV protected.

Well, someone even tint the windshield.

$299 is expensive. I got it for 200 tax included with lifetime warranty. 35% ceramic Madico tint, all 5 windows.

FWIW, I was also quoted $199 for 5 windows of 30% ceramic Greystone, and $159 for 3 windows (which I ended up going with).

I did SunTek High Performance 35%, charcoal, all around. It's a slightly mirrored metallic tint. i haven't really noticed problems with AM stations, but i only have a few AM stations in my area, the top two of which have co-broadcasts on FM, so it wasn't a big deal to me. This was through the vendor that my Hyundai dealer uses, the dealer threw in the tint as part of the sale.

$299 is cheap for Huper Optik Ceramic. That is $100 less than what I was quoted. Florida is the tint capital of the world, so tint jobs cost a lot less there because of all the competition (especially now that car sales have slowed) and the abundance of cheap labor.

I ALWAYS get my sunroof tinted. I get it near "limo" dark, but not fully. The Genesis is #5 in a long line of moon roof tint's!
