Genesis X
Getting familiar with the group...
After months of searching and waiting(for the Genesis) I ended up getting a new IS250 AWD. Black on black.
I know it's not really a comparison to the Genesis as far as size and power. After driving many cars, not a Genesis though, I decided to get AWD. It came down to the G35X, Audi A4, Volvo S60R(used), and the Lexus. Lexus had/has a decent lease deal going($4000 from Lexus in money for the dealer and about 3.5% on the money).
It's pretty loaded up w/ navi/bluetooth, premium, and luxory plus some other minor options. I tinted(25%) and clear bra two days after purchase. Thinking about the 1" drop springs and rims but that can wait until spring.
Dealer experience was outstanding. It goes in friday for the 1000 mile looksie and the XM I was able to get them to throw in. Loaner of coarse. Do you get a loaner w/ the Genesis?
Lexus also does the first oil change for free. With loaner of coarse.
Listed for just under $42K. About the same as a loaded out Genesis V8.
But do you get a loaner?
At the end of the day I think the Lexus experience will be superior. Buying a luxury vehicle means I want the treatment as well. Lexus resale is outstanding and I don't anticipate any reliability issues either. I have a strong feeling that Hyundai is up and coming strong. I liken them to Honda back in the day when everybody laughed. I'll consider the Genesis again in just over a year when the Toyota is up.
And from a page of wacky and wild...The 08' Lexus was cheaper than the 05' Dodge Ram Cummins it replaced!
I'll still lurk here and there and you never know, I just might have a Genesis sooner than later. It wouldn't be the first time.
