  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I had a rather unique experience that I’d like to share. The service department is great, they spent a month with my car diagnosing my car for a flutter at 25-30 mph.

My issue was with the loaner car. They have a rule there that you cannot have pets in the loaner. The kicker is they charge you $250 if you violate this rule. This is excessive. I had a Kona for three weeks and during that time I took my dog for a grooming, not realizing it was prohibited. I was able to talk my way out of the charge because I was not aware of the rule.

I had to return and got a Elantra loaner which I only had for a few days. Upon return they claimed there were pet hairs on the drivers seat, which apparently came off the jacket I was wearing. They again wanted to charge me $250, for pet hair transferred from my clothing!

in discussion with Hyundai customer service I was told that each dealer makes their own rules for loaners. So please beware when you get a loaner, make sure you understand the rules.

I’ve never experienced such an onerous set of rules for a loaner and it left me with a very bad opinion of this dealership, even though the service itself was very good.

If you take a Genesis in for service at this dealer don't expect special treatment for the premium brand. They work you in and out on first come first serve process behind Elantras and Hyundai cars. Blended dealers are embarassing for the brand. I have no faith in any dealer in this area as calling the others can be quite a disappointing phone experience. 😪

I'm not sure what you mean about working you in. Did you have an appointment? If I show up at 8 with an Elantra and you show up at 9 with a Genesis should you go ahead of me? Since you have a 2015/16 you have a Hyundai.

Check the restroom though. I bet they have a special urinal just for Genesis owners. I'm guessing I just pissed you off but people are people no matter what they drive. First come, first served is fair, just like the line at the coffee shop.

First of all, I have a 2019 G90 not a 15/16. And I have had a Genesis brand car since 2016 so making appointments is something I have been doing since even way before that. And NO, Genesis customers should expect priority over Hyundai, not getting that is why there are dealer issues. Not having dedicated Genesis Advisors is another issue at this dealer. Claiming to be a premium brand means standing behind it, something Hyundai will eventually learn. The dealer in NC where I leased the car gets it right, this one does not.

I agree, until Genesis has its own dealerships exclusive to the Genesis brand they will never reach their potential. Like infinity, Lexus etc.

Your membership shows a 2G sedan so you may want to update your status.
A separate service adviser is a nice touch. My dealer has one.
If I had a 10 year old Accent and you got priority because you have a G90 you can be sure there would be a lot of noise in the service area waiting room complaining that some arrogant A-hole thinks he is better than the rest of us. Spending more money on a car does not make you a better person or a more important one either. First come/first served works well and is fair.

We all have things to do and the Elantra owner may have a more important agenda for the day than the G90 owner. Do you take your car registration to the coffee shop to get to the head of the line? Bypass the wait at the doctor's office?

I understand though, if you have to use the restroom while at the dealership if you tell them you have a G90 they give you the softer toilet tissue. I only have a G80 so cannot verify that.

The answer is YES to all those scenarios. A G90 registration should even get me a better lap dance at a strip joint. Oh wait, a Gentleman's club for G90 drivers. 😂😂😂😂
