If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The car is a 2012 white on cashmere with tech and premium packages.

Its showing as a Personal 1 owner with 37k miles. I know the miles are pretty high for the year but I have negotiated a pretty good deal I think.

The car is Hyundai CPO but I noticed is has odd center caps and I'm curious if the emblem on the steering wheel is normal as well? The Carfax and Auto-check are clean and being its a CPO car I don't think it has seen any damage.

Take a look at the wheels and steering wheel and let me know if something is a miss.

The car is located up North but I am hoping due to it being RWD it hasn't seen too much nasty weather.

Please let me know your thoughts/concerns.

Thanks!

Genesis owners had two choices for replacing the H on the steering wheel:
  • Purchasing a new official KDM OEM airbag with the wings
  • Purchasing an after-market wings emblem to cover up the H
For the wheels, I am not sure, but those may be after-market and not KDM OEM wheel caps. But not sure you can get KDM wheel caps for those wheels. Other members can provide more info on that.

I am assuming you have the 3.8 engine?

Correct, its the 3.8L with Tech, I have no pulled the trigger and am buying sight unseen so trying to cover all my bases.

Looks like a nice car that has the KDM winged badges on it. No big deal. They just replace the flying H. ;)

The early Genesis’ had two (actually three) wheel styles. The wheel caps on that car are from the 3.8 Tech wheels. The caps that should be on those wheels were more expensive, and the early versions were hand crafted. Now they are mass produced by Hyundai and the price has come down considerably. Having purchased a set, I can say they do look better than what is currently on that vehicle.

Can you link me to the more desirable center caps that flow more with the wheels lines?

Thanks!

It has correct KDM wheel badges, however if the steering wheel badge is not correct. They stuck a badge from a different model on the steering wheel. It doesn't fit that well.

The correct center cap set is this http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-GENESIS-SEDAN-18-AL-wheel-Caps-Winged-Emblem-SET-4PCS-OEM-Parts-/181303518247

These would be the correct caps. These came on your car from the factory, but didn't have the wing but instead had the flying "H".

These were like $275 back in 2009 for a set of 4:rolleyes:

The caps shown by Scottdk are correct for the 2012 18" wheels. That's what I have on my car which came with 18" wheels.

The steering wheel badge looks fine to me. It's just a stick on over the H logo. DO NOT take it off and attempt to remove the H logo.

No, the wheel caps on the OP's car are not the correct ones for the 18" wheels. The correct ones are scallop shaped, not round. Scottdk provided the correct link.

I provided a photo of the correct wheel caps for 18" V8. see above.

Not sure what you mean by "different model of steering wheel." As I posted above, Genesis owners had two choices for replacing the H on the steering wheel:
  • Purchasing a new official KDM OEM airbag with the wings
  • Purchasing an after-market wings emblem to cover up the H
The after-market wing is not from another model (it was designed for the Genesis by some company), and is not OEM in the USA or Korea (but it is several hundred dollars less expensive than replacing the OEM airbag with the KDM airbag).

I just put that wing emblem on my Rspec's steering wheel right on top of the stocked crooked H. It looks and fits just fine by me. :)

If you are concerned over the center caps I'll sell you the ones with the flying H that came off my 2012 premium/tech (18" wheels) - replaced with the KDM centers....
