  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Locking Vehicle while running

Works just fine on my 2014 r-spec using BlueLink Remote Lock via the iPhone app. Only catch is you have to use the app to Unlock too.

Its unreal you can't lock the car while its running. James

There is a way to do this but it's not the easiest.

Start car and lock the doors with the inside door lock button. Then:

1: Remove metal key from key fob.

2: Use it to remove the rearmost cover on the door handle by press the tab on the bottom of the cover.

3: Use metal key to lock the car with the now exposed lock slot. I know, the car is already locked, but do it anyway.

Now you can walk away with the key fob and the car is running. When you get back to the car, unlock it any way you want to ... key fob, button on handle or metal key.

With a name like green action centre I dont trust they are really impartial.

That and the comments especially one guy told him his diesel F250 would not run correctly until it warmed up and the person who wrote the article responded saying well if your F150 was tuned up it would.......

Seriously?

I will need to try it out but my idea will be to close the door with the window down, then lock the doors from the door panel and then auto-roll up the window, car should remain locked if I’m correct, another idea could be to just close the car and then with the physical key lock it, I had this trouble the other day and was very surprised to find out I could lock the car, on rewards to leave the car on by accident it happened to me once but the beeping sound helped, it has happened several times when I change the oil or at the valet service, the car is very quiet and no one notices

I wish that it could easily be done... I was able to do it with my Infiniti. It knew if the fob was present in the car, if so it wouldn't allow you to lock the door.

Miss that feature!

If you locked the car running could it be broken into and driven away? Remote start kills the engine but if it can be driven- - - different circumstance.

There is that... but I'd never used to leave it more than a minute and always within sight.

Understood, before remotes many of us did that at times. Its those other 10,000 guys that spoiled it.
