  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

so - I spotted this sweet deal on a 2009 V8, fully loaded - only 2.6k Miles ... but, a weird entry shows up on the carfax:

No-start condition checked at 349miles ... anybody have a idea what that could be, needles to say the car ran just fine and started with no problems

any help is highly appreciated :)

could just be a dealer repair for no-start. There was a TSB issued for neutral start switch adjustment that could cause a no start condition.

If it fired up and its under warranty, I wouldn't be worried.

that's weird,2.6k & already on carfax? is this private or dealer car?

Could have been something like on my 09 where all the grounds throughout the car had to be cleaned and re-torqued due to stalling and no power conditions. The dealer couldn't duplicate the problem, but Hyundai corporate knew about it and the fix.

right ... I never really understood sales like that, but yes - it's through a dealer, and I actually got it for a overnight test drive and it behaves just fine.

Carfax has managed to become the single largest repository of vehicle information in the world. It has more detailed information than any single goverment agency. The truth is that if you take your car to the dealer/body shop/tag agency/insurance company, Carfax probably gets the report within a week of you doing so.

In 2001 I bought a Saab Viggen Convertible that was a GM buy back due to habitual check engine lights. The car came with a full factory warranty and maintenance and at the time I bought it the mileage was about 5000. The car was returned to Saab N.A. after the buy back and after extensive repairs the check engine problem was resolved. I was able to purchase the car for $14k off the sticker for a current year car. I never had the first lick of trouble with that part of the car. The only issues that I had were totally unrelated to the engine and even then they were few. I had the car for 7 years and 90k miles and only sold it when Saab was going bankrupt and parts availability dried up. If this car comes with a full FACTORY warranty from Hyundai and the price is right, I would not be concerned because they don't want to sell the trouble twice. Sometimes these cars can be better than the average used car because it has been completely inspected and repaired by factory technicians and all the current issues have been resolved properly. BMW buys back a lot of cars due to the HPFP problem and those cars are fixed and resold with no extra problems. Provided they have not been in an accident they even show up on the CPO sales lists.

Kerm,

If you don't mind me asking, what is the dealer asking for it? (Not what are you paying, but what is the dealer asking?)

Also, what part of the country are you located in? I saw a beautiful White 2009 4.6 at a Toyota Dealer in Tampa, low miles, and the price was good, but when I checked the computer the very next day, it was gone. Also see other White 2009 and 2010 4.6's in South Florida at slightly higher prices, but that first one was a great price.

Reason I'm looking is that if I find a White or Sterling Blue 2009 4.6 with Tech as a second Genesis, mostly for my wife. Have to be careful when looking at used 2010 4.6 Tech's because although the photos show a GPS Screen, many of them are not Tech, but touch screen GPS. The way I can tell from the photos is the non-tech do not have the DIS Knob, but sometimes you have to look close.
