After months of research, asking all of you fine folks lots of questions and coming within mere minutes a few weeks ago of ordering a new Audi A7 I pulled the trigger on a 2016 Genesis a week ago.

My dealer here in Madison, which at the time had no 2016 stock inbound, had HMA allocate the car I wanted to them which is now on the way!

2016 Genesis 3.8 AWD in Empire State Gray with Ivory

Used my Hyundai Circle Plan A pricing to do the deal and just like that I should be driving a new Genesis before the end of the year.

The car has no port installed options so I have a few things to order to square that away :) ...also going to tint the windows (3M Crystalline or Ceramic) and perhaps do some of that clear bra treatment on the front.

I'll post photos as soon as I take delivery!

Congrats, great decision. The Audi is undeniably sweet, but the Genesis will give you much of the same for a lot less.

Which package did you get?

Nice choice of colors. Congrats.

Congrats! Share pictures ASAP!!

Which package did you get?

Signature + Tech + Ultimate

To get the Ivory interior (which my spouse really wanted) you have to get the Ultimate package. I think it might have been that way with the 2015 MY as well.

I would have ordered it with the Ultimate pkg even if she hadn't insisted on the ivory :) :)

The Ivory was my choice also, simply stunning. My second choice of outside color would have been what you picked. You are going to love this car, I know I do.

WOW! I have been dealing with a couple of dealers in the Seattle area. All they told me is that nothing is available. Can you share the price as the 4 dealers I have been working with have no idea what the price will be. I had one dealer in Yakima quote me a price on a 2015 of $49,322 for an AWD in the Ultimate package. I didn't dicker as I wasn't interested.
I have a dealer near me that told me a month ago that he was unable to get me a 2016. I have contacted a dealer in Portland and they did say they will be getting a 2016 soon? Not the right color or package. Did your dealer work with Costco or True Car? I really prefer to work with a dealer on the East side of the state as our tax is 8%. I am looking for an AWD in the Ultimate Package as well. Any info will be very helpfull:welcome:

The prices are listed on the Hyundai website. Obviously, they cannot tell you the price they will sell it at, since they don't know what the demand will be.

Awesome!

Just got back from the dealership - the car just came off the truck this afternoon. Looks great even before the PDI with the exception of all the grime on the drivers side door pull from (I suspect) the truck driver or the port. Hopefully they'll be able to get all that off - going to have to put something on that pull area when I take it in for service - I can see that being an issue.

Supposed to take delivery on Tuesday morning and then off to the tint shop.

Even with all the plastic on I'd forgotten how nice of an interior the car has! Just gorgeous. Photos to come.

Couple of things:

(1) I did a quick search on the Hyundai Circle locator system and Car Pros Renton Hyundai in Renton has 4 2016's showing....there is also a white 2016 in Beaverton, Oregon.

(2) If you are ready to buy just tell your preferred dealer you'll only take a 2016 and they *should* be able to have their Hyundai regional rep allocate the one you want to them....especially if you mention that Renton has 2016s :)

(3) Pricing - I used Hyundai Circle pricing which gives you a special discounted price below invoice (Hyundai reimburses the dealer). Many organizations participate in Circle pricing...I got access as a member of the Hyundai listens community ( https://www.hyundailistens.com/Portal/default.aspx ) ... however what I would do is FIRST call the Hyundai Circle Dept. at 855-524-7253 and ask them if you employer has a Circle program...if they don't it is VERY LIKELY they will give you a complimentary 30 day Circle pricing membership - if not do ask about it.

Circle pricing works as follows: Your cost = (Dealer Invoice + Freight + Regional Ad Fee) less 3% of MSRP (not including freight) - $250 "Hyundai Circle Cash" (which will be applied after tax).

So in my case my 2016 3.8 AWD with Signature, Tech & Ultimate costs $48,027.50. My car has no port installed options so that's the cheapest you'd see one under this program.

Also with this pricing you can still take advantage of any Hyundai promotions going on for your region ($1000 competitive coupon, special financing etc - subject to the rules of those programs).

The dealer *can* still charge "doc fees", *prep fees*, etc on top of this pricing from Hyundai so just be aware of that....but my folks here locally have been fine to work with ($195 "Doc Fee" only). They have sold VERY few Genesis sedans here in Madison so they seemed quite eager to get another one on the street even having to jump through a few hoops with the Circle pricing.

Hope that helps - Curt

Thank you Curt. I have heard of the Circle program but that is about all. The dealer in Portland is trying to find the model I want. Just like yours, but the wife wants the gray interior. I am looking in Portland as they will charge me my local tax (8%) not the 10% or 11% from the Seattle area. They didn't shoot me a price yet. KBB says fair Purchase Price is $47,224 to $50,976. I would be very happy with the price you paid. Thanks for sharing.
I went to Renton Car Pros 6 months ago to just show the wife and get her idea on colors. The model they said they had, the night before, wasn't there. Nor was the internet rep? It was raining, we got soaked and had a terrible experience. It took me 6 months to convince the wife we would really enjoy a Genesis.
Thanks again as all your data will be very helpful.

Welcome to the Genesis family here Curt! You're going to LOVE the Genesis!

We picked up our 2016 3.8 AWD this morning. Here are a couple of quick pictures (one with the fog lights on :))

Stopped by and scheduled the window tint install - went with the 3M Crystalline which they had to order so I won't be able to post up a picture of the finished tint (50% Crystalline) for a couple of weeks.

Only hangup I had today was I tried to register my Bluelink online this evening and it tells me I have to return to my dealer to register the vehicle. Not sure what that is all about - anybody else have that experience?

Car is absolutely beautiful! My wife and I put on about 60 miles today and everything seemed to work just fine. Lots to read and play with - definitely not a car for buyers who don't like to study up on the tech pieces - especially the automated systems, their capabilities and limitations.
