MagnaFlow 15059 Cat-Back Exhaust System for 5.0 R-SPEC

I had a Magnaflow on my 2012 RSpec. It droned - a lot.
Considered a Magnaflow, new version, which adds some resonators.

My opinion is that all Magnaflows drone; and drone is annoying and unacceptable.

Far cheaper and drone free is a custom exhaust replacing the central resonator and rear mufflers.
1. Replace central resonator with Magnaflow or Dynomax "X" resonators. I know the Magnaflow will fit.
2. Replace the rear mufflers with Dynomax VT mufflers. Use the 3" inlet model necked down. These mufflers are the "deal" - cheap and really reduce drone to a bare minimum. These mufflers are well engineered and reliable. Do Google them for reviews.
This combination passed the "wife test" - she didn't notice the noise change, except under hard acceleration.

Dynomax VT mufflers have been discontinued for a year or two. Good luck finding them.

Sorry to hear about the Borla. I was planning to get one because the car is just too quiet when gunning it. I thought the drone was very low according to others. Interested to see how others feel about the system you're looking at.

I literally just installed a Borla exhaust today. Previous owner had already had the X-Pipe put on my 2012 5.0 R-Spec and the sound is just fantastic. Not over the top but it gives a “voice” to the 430HP sitting under the hood. Yes, there is a “drone” she cruising but if I can’t imagine a setup that would show the balls of the Tau V8 without the low RPMdrone in the cabin! Hell, you have a 17 speaker Lexicon sound system in there so just crank up the Metallica and get after it
