Magnaflow 19116

I have been reading every muffler thread I can find on here for something to install on my 2015 5.0. From what I gather there are a couple of possible mufflers that may or not fit, and at the very least it's a pain...and then there is the drone issue.

So has anyone actually put in the Magnaflow 19116 cat back system? Now I had some Magnadrone mufflers on my Chevy Silverado with a 5.3. It sounded great WOT, the the highway drone was terrible. The Genesis system has a resonator (X pipe internals I assume?), so I wonder if this one has tamed the dreaded drone.

Have you looked at the dyno max vt mufflers?

I have been reading about all the mufflers, and unless I am wrong it seems like none are a "drop in" fit. There is always some level of customization needed to connect the exhaust pipes. And I have to admit I am not really keen of the idea of the spring loaded exhaust flap in the VT's. That just seems like a failure waiting to happen and I don't like the flap in the exhaust stream.

The Magnaflow seems to be the only cat back out there and I wonder if their x-pipe mid muffler will control the drone or not...

I wrote in to Magnaflow's tech line and their response is:

Part number 19116 will be a moderate exterior sound level with minimal interior resonance (interior/drone).

I wonder what their definition of "minimal" is...

Not yet I don't think. I know they are working on one but nothing final is available yet.
