  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone ever looked further into this product? Is there any performance gains over stock?

N/A performance gains are hard to come by. You won't find tangible gains until you get an exhaust/cat delete/intake and when its available, an ECU tune. Simply replacing mufflers will give you 2hp if anything or something you won't be able to feel or measure with a clock.

Other than the tune.... I have everything you just mentioned. That's why I am considering the magnaflow headers. I wish there was other options but.... obviously there isn't. If I knew a reputable shop in FL I would consider custom long tube headers. Hell honestly if the dollars line up right with my new job I would go a step further and supercharge the car and go full stand alone along with long tube headers lol.

By the way for the record these are the 4.6L headers.

If they fit the 2014 R-Spec you can count me in on adding these to my setup, providing they are a step above the OEM headers.

I completely missed that you were referring to headers rather than mufflers! Based on some quick reading I'm not sure if these are simply OEM replacements or performance oriented headers. They still have a cat converter on them and no mention of high flows on the sites I visited.

This line of Magnaflow headers is simply OEM replacement. I've researched these before. On Magnflow's website they are even listed as a 'direct fit catalytic converter' and not any sort of header or manifold.

That's what I was thinking. Save your money folks!

Been selling Magnaflow products for more than 10 years, the CAD renderings are always very optimistic and quite a ways off of reality.

For example, you go to Hardee's/Carl's Jr with your stomach looking for this:

And what you actually get is this:

I have already reached out to MagnaFlow to ask all of the questions I asked here before I even posted. Honestly, I wouldn't mind getting my hand's on an OEM 12-14 header. 1 of 2 things could happen, some port and polish work to increase flow or use the flange to recreate a header off the car.

I am walking away from a 500whp turbocharged Cavalier and the money I am getting in exchange is being dedicated to further develop my visions of my R-Spec. What direction that actually is, well that's yet to be decided but, it won't be bags & stanced. I'm more into functionality & power.

That Cavalier sounds awesome but I'm so done with modifying cars. Nowadays I just want to be able to get in and go without having to worry about breaking down. And the worst part is dealing with shops around here. A nightmare...

Bro, I have $40k in that cavalier and it's still a headache and a half. I am seriously selling it to a guy I have known for 10 years now for a brand new set of TSW Jarama wheels, StopTech Slotted/Drilled rotors, StopTech braided lines, and some cash to pay for the Brembo calipers. He has a Summit Racing credit card and was like let me know what you want and I will add some cash lol.

To bad Summit doesn't sell suspension components for my R-Spec too.

Oh, I hear ya. It's just not worth it. You could do everything right and it's just not going to be very reliable. If I want a truly powerful car nowadays - I'll buy a Hellcat Charger. That's it. A $100k+ GT-R or Z06 is way more than I'd want to spend but I think a $60k Charger would be doable.
