If I can get both, via download, why wouldn't I ?
Convenience. I'm within the 3 years so they give me an SD card to plug in. No added cost.If I can get both, via download, why wouldn't I ?
Did you see the notice that the map is not available until April 27? You cannot order yet. Go back on the 27th and there should be some different options and you should be able co check a box to "Bill to Genesis" That is the way it has been for the past 3 years.Help a nOoB out here guyz...
I went to the site and entered my info and VIN, yet they want to charge me $25 + shipping.
I thought map updates were free for three years.
I just purchased(new car) my 2019 two weeks ago.

In the past I never paid for the SD card. If you had an older model that did not qualify for free maps you could download at one price or pay the extra $25 for the card. I'm guessing on the 27th it will be more clear and ready to go.Thanks EdP,
I just searched the "faqs" on the site, to me it appears you have to pay for the SD card, but the download(in July) is free.
Am I wrong?
How do I get a free map update?
For all eligible vehicles, visit the Global MapCare site below to download your free map. Note: Not all models can be downloaded.
UPDATE: April 16, 2020 - the download websites below are currently unavailable. Scheduled release is JULY 2020.
I am trying to recall when my car was new. After registering with their site there was a delay of some time, several weeks for the confirmation between Genesis and mapnsoft before ordering free update was available. I sent them a message about confirming my VIN was in their system and they said it was and they were waiting for update from Genesis (or something). Some others here may help to confirm this. It seems it should take but a short time but others also reported weeks, maybe a month before availability of free update. No reason to be in a hurry. Myself, I will wait until others have used the new data and report on success and bugs, if any.Help a nOoB out here guyz...

It was about an hour in my case, including removal of the card from the car, downloading the update from their website, reading all the instructions before doing anything, writing the firmware to the card, reading the instructions again, and putting the card back in the car.Do the updates generally take an hour like the website indicates?
My G80 was about a half hour. You can drive the car while it does its thing. Plug the card in and go, but you will not have radio, navigation, cameras. As you are driving along and music starts to play it is done.Do the updates generally take an hour like the website indicates?
Good to know, was just gonna leave car running in garage. My G80 was about a half hour. You can drive the car while it does its thing. Plug the card in and go, but you will not have radio, navigation, cameras. As you are driving along and music starts to play it is done.
I was able to update fine without starting the engine. I made sure all unnecessary accessories (fan, radio, lights etc.) were turned off in order to minimize drain on the battery while performing the update.Good to know, was just gonna leave car running in garage.
Genesis for 3 yearsIs it free upgrade too all Hyundai/Genesis newly purchased cars?
I really want to real time Doppler weather radar integrated into the nav maps. Soon?
