No I don't think so cause my wife's 2019 Sorento SXL manufactured in July has v12.5 on it.

In Canada you get 2 free updates a year for 5 years. How about the US?

I understand that in the US map updates are free for 3 years, which has expired for our 2015 Genesis which was placed in service August 2015. I purchased the car as a cpo September 2018. I will probably skip 12.5 and wait until the next map update.

I was told by Genesis that the complimentary map updates are every 12 months. I have only had the g70 for about a month and even though the maps are 2 versions behind, I have to wait another 11 months to get the free update, otherwise, I can pay for an update now. Is this info accurate?

That's is not correct. Complementary maps are for three years but MapNSoft do the updates twice a year. You can download/order for free every time they do the update during those three years. I have owned my car for 9 months and I have updated twice this year.

That's what I told the agent that I spoke to at Bluelink Connect (the contact number that is shown on mapnsoft if you have any questions). I even said peeps at the forum said they get free updates each time one comes out for 3 years. She was adamant: "No that is not correct, you only get a free update every 12 months." I figured she was incorrect. I guess I should contact MapNSoft directly but I didn't see their contact number. It has been a little over a month and my Vin number still does not show that it is registered. That is why I called them to begin with. That's when the agent said it is not showing because you have to wait another 11 months before your complimentary update. Anyone know the number for MapnSoft directly or should I just email them?
