  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Market Adjustment is Back!!!!

So some Hyundai dealerships are jacking up the price (market adjustment) and some are offering a fairly large discount.... Am I reading this right?

Wow did i read that some dealers are gonna charge 47k for the Genesis? Man this just looks pretty bad for Hyundai. There should be no adjustment or dealer markups.. wtf? I def wouldnt buy it for 47k. That is ridiculous.

good thing you're not buying in korea, where its manufactured. They only sell the V6 in korea and it sells for 60k. A mercedes S65 sells for 300k though.(and gas is $10/gallon!)

Welcome, Relsieh.. $60k compared to $300k is cheap! Big difference there...

"I've suspected all along, that the "Market Adjustment" exists, just so that buyers like us will come in and say, "well I'm not paying anything over sticker", and then we've lost our bargaining power and the dealer is getting full price for the car. It's kind of like when I was a kid listening to my stereo at 6 and having my mom strongly suggest I turn it down, at which point I blast it up to 10 then back down to 6."

SWilliams is right. It's all a psychological game. Same thing applies to fuel prices. People are overjoyed when prices drop below $3.50 per gallon.

The is a dealer in Dallas that has added $599 for Nitrogen in the tires!

Sewell fills my Cadillac tires with nitrogen for free. Our atmosphere is 78% nitrogen, so if air is free, then . . . . Maybe we should fill our tires with helium so the cars will "float" down the road.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!

Hmm.. Good point... Very good point.....

I just negotiated a lease of 459 tax included on a Genesis with Prem Plus Package and 15K miles with $699 out of pocket from a dealer in North Jersey. Hyundai gave me a $1500 lease loyalty coupon to use toward the 2199 down payment. Ironically Towne Hyundai would have beat the price by $10 a month to win my business but they are 30 miles away from me and the dealer I got mine from is 6 miles away.
