Mass Issue: Genesis Infotainment Driver/User Profile Settings Reset Discussion

Today my wife went to use her 4 month old GV70 and found that her entire profile was missing! Everything, from log in screen to ambient lighting, all gone. However, my profile as driver #2, was still there but I lost the ambient lighting, lift gate height and a couple of other conveniences. Has anyone else had this happen?

Yep - I lost my entire profile yesterday as well. So frustrating!

I found this to get the MPG back. I found it on mine, but I don't remember being able to put the check mark on it, but it is back to the car one more time today.,

Whatever happened, it will be radio silence from Genesis. To me, that is more of an issue than what happened.

We had the very same issue. We reprogrammed our SirusXM stations and other settings but were surprised to learn when we got home that the custom lift gate opening height we had configured was among the settings reset by whatever anomaly plagues us all. We learned of it when the lift gate had a run-in with our garage door which caused some cosmetic damage to the paint. We expect Genesis will resolve this for us.

This happened to my Tucson PHEV yesterday. Everything was reset, including the tailgate opening height. Hasn't happened on my GV60 yet. Both my GV60 and Tucson PHEV must have the opening lowered from the default, otherwise it collides with my garage door. Found this out the hard way when I drove the GV60 home. Beware if your garage door is also in the way.

Somebody at Hyundai messed up something. I suspect we'll never know what happened.

happened to me yesterday am. Called dealer and was told it was an OTA update glitch and I was the 7th such call.
Spent yesterday and part of today to restore settings. Got most of it but can't find way to have side mirrors lower in reverse.

Happened to me yesterday (Saturday 6/10) when I started my GV60 around 9:30 AM. Called Connected Services and waited on hold about 30 minutes. The agent couldn’t have been more courteous and professional, and explained there was very high call volume due to a recent update. (After perusing this thread, I can see why). She offered to assist me in resetting my profile, but I elected to do it on my own (as I was driving through the Lincoln Tunnel at the time).
Very disappointed that all my pre-sets are gone. I wish there was a way to restore settings without recreating them (like you can do if your PC crashes).
I have only updated the BlueTooth connection to my iPhone thus far; I hope to tackle the rest today. At least I have an excuse for not mowing the lawn

Yes, happened to one of our GV70 as well. Got in my car yesterday and everything, from my paired iPhone, my passcode, my fingerprint and all settings were simply gone. I had to set up the car again as if it has never had a user. And on a Facebook group I'm part of, it turns out it happened to hundreds of users (likely thousands). I can access the Genesis Owners page on any browser. I have yet to be able to accept the ability to receive OTA updates. And half the time the Genesis Owners Page is offline or can't be accessed.

I love love love both of 2023 GV70 Sport Prestige, but Genesis system access is rather pathetic. And wiping out user settings in cars without letting owners know they were doing something which could do something like this was pathetically unacceptable.

HARUMPH. Genesis needs to compensate me for the couple hours I had to give up to reset up my car, going through all the menus, repairing my phone, passcode and fingerprint.

Ps: I tried to email Genesis and thank them for messing up my car and wasting my time to set it up again, but you can't send an email. I imagine they turned off the ability to email them to avoid receiving emails complaining about this mess they created.

Looks like my 2022 Santa Fe Calligraphy and 2023 GV70 Sport Prestige were not affected by this issue. Or, if they were, the settings were restored. Both vehicles were not used for about 4 days. I checked them both today after finding about the issue and found everything in order.

I don't think that is a setting on the menus. To do that, select either the left (or right) button on the driver door next to the side mirror adjustment and just leave the "L" button on.

I’m curious - is there anyone who did the latest available update (via USB) and still experienced the reset? Trying to see if there’s a connection here.

I wasn’t able to successfully update via USB as it kept telling me files were corrupt. Even had Genesis send me a pre-installed USB and same thing. So, I’m curious if the reset only affected those of us that haven’t upgraded yet.

Genesis needs to improve their communication skills. Obviously, they messed up, so why not an email with an explanation about what happened, and what they're doing to fix it?

I updated via USB a few days ago and did not experience the factory reset.

Our 2021 GV80 also affected. Just adding to the list of frustrated customers.

I’m hoping the fact that the profile settings are saved in the app make it easy to recover them, but I’m not very hopeful, given some of the responses here.

Just curious. Did anyone NOT lose their drivers profile?
