  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Mass Issue: Genesis Infotainment Driver/User Profile Settings Reset Discussion

Same things happened tonight. Screen went to 3d and my home address was gone, my car went back to factory defaults. I have not found all the issues as it is late. 2021 GV80 12,500 miles. Time set to EST instead of CST.

I'm glad I have the 2015 DH Ultimate sedan with no Bluelink. Still a great car.

I am still stuck on the user agreement screen and can’t get into the system. Does anyone know how to freaking reset the entire system and wipe all of the profiles?

I disconnected the battery for a bit to try to clear everything out but then when I booted it up again I saw my profile there again??

How do you freaking master reset this thing
There is more to restoring every thing than meets the eye.
Go to SetUp and scroll down to Genesis Connect services you should then be able to get into the account and reconfigure it by tapping the area that says reconfigure.
Genesis Customer service told me that this procedure must be done even if you went in and restored all your settings so it is recommended that this be the first thing that you do.

Next bring up your profile and see if everything has been restored, if not try deleting your profile and reentering your information. The next step is to reset your settings back to where you had them,

If the connect service account is not reconfigured. I was told that you could have problems with voice recognition as well as your personal profile especially if you have a profile setup for someone else.

Good Luck 🍀

Maybe I’ve been lucky, but I simply reset all of my original settings and I’ve had no issues with voice recognition. I should note I don’t have a profile for my wife as she drives the i4.

My car was stuck at the user agreement screen until yesterday afternoon. The setup and other buttons would not work and just gave the pop up message "not available on user agreement screen". After a second lengthy discussion with Genesis Support, they were able to reset something on their side that allowed me to get through the user agreement screen. Although it is better now that I can actually use the infotainment system, it is still not completely fixed.

If I do not quickly validate my fingerprint and press "confirm" when I start the car, it will go through the cycle of wanting to reset settings and then give the message that the smart key must be inside the vehicle to delete a fingerprint. While the issue clearly started Saturday with whatever OTA settings got pushed out, we were able to confirm that all Connected Services were working. For some reason I was not able to delete my fingerprint, profile, or reset to factory settings. The representative said the vehicle was not recognizing my smart key for those purposes. There is not a Genesis dealer near me, so I have an appointment on 6/30 for a diagnostic and recall repair. Hopefully they will be able to figure out what is wrong.

Do you have both car keys with you in the car?

Also had a strange, but somewhat different issue this weekend.
I use the digital key (credit card) almost exclusively as I don't like carrying the key fob. While out of state on Saturday, the key card and NFC phone charger stopped working. Screen said, "no digital key connected."
Tried the digital key on my phone, tried remote start... nothing worked.

I figured it was a fuse, but they all checked okay.

After calling many dealerships who were not helpful, I had my gf pick me up and drive me all the way home (2.5 hours round trip) to get the key fob so that I can start the car.

I set up an appointment for Genesis dealer to fix the issue, but before that happened ... boom!.. tried it again yesterday and it works! Everything is connected and digital key is recognized again.

One of the dealerships said that there were technical issues and connections issues over the weekend and this was probably a glitch.

*** Guess I have to carry my key fob from now on, making the digital key kinda useless and redundant. ***

I am also having this exact same issue. I keep calling Genesis and they have no idea how to fix it.

If you have not done so I would still recommend going in and reconfiguring the Genesis Connect Service Account, failing to do so can affect mostly everything that owners are complaining about. It can also affect the ability to properly reprogram everything you lost that went into default.

Is this done through the headunit, the phone app, or the website?

Ah okay, thanks! For me, I can’t even get into the setup menu, I’m stuck on the user agreement screen. :(

Let’s try a reset of your head unit.
Press the map button and setup at the same time and hold them down until the screen goes blank and release. When the screen comes back up you should be able to get out of the user agreement screen. I would try at least three attempts before declaring that does not work.

Unfortunately, I've done that a few times, about 30 times to try to reset it, over various days. I'm stuck!

If the reset does not work then try a hard reset which will require disconnecting the battery for at least ten minutes and then reconnecting it. This might require resetting your power roof, windows and trunk which you can refer to the owners manual for instructions should you need to do so.

I tried that last night! I'm really stuck :(

Are you still stuck on the user agreement screen? If you could pull up the profile screen you need to delete all your information and reenter it. This too can take a couple of tries.

If nothing works it sounds like this bogus software update has locked up your head unit which means reinstalling the last software update might release it or you may be looking at having to have the head unit replaced.

Good luck 🍀
