  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Maximum width?! Aggressiveness!!

Found this:

Assuming you have 235/55R18. You could go to 255/50R18, assuming they won't rub. I haven't checked the clearance when the wheel is locked left or right. This is also assuming the rim can hold that size tire. Looking at the stock tire, the sidewall is already outside the rim plane (at least the stock Michelin Energy on my car are).

Yeah the issue is going to be rim width. Assuming they are 8" wide like the RSpec rims 245 is max size.

If that's the case, 245/55R18 is your best bet on stock rims. 1.5% off.

I will be so thankful if you show me with a picture.

I do not have one after lowering..I have to figure out how to get the iPhone to take pictures that are the correct size. Lol. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1403123419.817003.webp

Thanks alot for picture. It looks nice but im not planing to make them too much wide like yours, i just want it be abit wider like from 235 to 245

Awesome. One size up will be fine. Enjoy!

Maximum width/lowest offset =/= best fit. These things both affect handling, road manners, and reliability. The idea is to find a happy medium, not take it to the extreme.

20x9/20x10.5 +21ish all around. 245/40 all around

245s belong on the stock 8" wheels. The miniumum amount of tire even remotely justifying 10.5" wheels are 295s...... Running that tire size on wheels as wide as that voids the tire size for a reason. It's way out of spec and that bead can pop off. That's before taking into account that it looks eye-bleed awful.

Im thinking to change my 235/50 r18 to 255/45 r18 , is that going to effect handling and reliability?? Thanks

There is no doubting that you have a lot of knowledge on multiple subjects regarding this and other vehicles. The fact that you share that information is fantastic, as that is what makes forums like this work.

When it comes to people's personal taste, how and what they decide to mod their car with, please keep negative opinions to yourself. I am well aware of the do's and don'ts of stretching tires. I achieved the look I wanted on my car, factoring in those concerns. I have been doing this type of thing for quite some time.

Sometimes "it's not to my taste, but as long as you like it" goes a long way. It seems that there is a lot of negativity on this forum for those who do not like a particular way of doing something that does not fall in line with theirs. End rant. Lol

I was thinking about how to properly phrase it when I saw the picture of your car, Tailwalker. Not to my taste. :)

No worries man. To each their own. :)
The way I look at it, if you are continuing the tradition of modding your car there will always be those that do not like the end result. That being said, at least the culture is continuing. That is to be appreciated.
