  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I tried Dr. Beasley's Matte paint cleanser but it won't go. Any tips? I don't feel anything to the touch; it's smooth as the rest of the paint.

I just noticed that this was present when the car was delivered. This picture below was taken at delivery, while the experience manager was still there. Don't know how I could have missed that.PXL_20210621_182247444~2.webp

Bummer...I'd get the dealership to pay for a reputable detailer to give it a shot, not someone they suggest.

Even for that small smudge, the whole piece, front to rear, including the sail panel need to be painted/blended. Getting an exact match will be very difficult, even at a notable body shop.

That's frustrating. I should have checked more thoroughly when the car was delivered. It's not visible at all angles and light conditions. I'll contact my experience manager to talk about that.

Thanks!

Take that to a detailer; that may be able to buff out.

Good luck. It’s why I won’t buy Matt finish.

If you can’t feel it it’s likely it’s only in the clear coat. A good shop should be able to sand the clear coat only and re-clear the section. That way there is no problem matching the paint.

Any attempt to polish would only do more damage.
Ah well you would know; if I recall correctly, I believe you've got knowledge of vehicle assembly, so I stand corrected. So would you guess that it left the factory like that?
..and..

rhetorically, how in tarnation did that get past final vehicle inspection? Genesis is slipping.

It's visible at certain light angles. Did not see this at delivery time. I won't touch anything until I hear back from genesis Canada.

That I don't have an answer for. I've seen much more obvious mistakes get through production. Back in the late 1990's, during my times at a Jeep dealership, we took delivery of a new Grand Cherokee Limited. The badges were "Limited" on the driver's side, and "Laredo"on the passenger side!

Somewhere on this forum is a post by someone with a black interior who somehow got one interior door panel in the light grey. The fact that THAT somehow got through QC is hilarious
