  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have seen many discussions concerning discharged batteries. How many of you are aware of the following in the manual?

" Your vehicle is equipped with a memory fuse to prevent battery discharge if your vehicle is parked without being operated for prolonged periods. Use the following procedures before parking the vehicle for prolonged periods.
1. Turn off the engine.
2. Turn off the headlights and tail lights.
3. Open the driver’s side panel cover and pull up the memory fuse.

Just thought you should know!

For those of us with bad eyes, I wonder which one is the memory fuse?

For those of you unfamiliar with the concept of actually reading the manual, I have attached a picture of the fuse involved. The same picture is available in the manual (I couldn't copy it). I think this is the same fuse referred to in another thread that was loose and causing problems with starting.

That fuse shown here in the yellow bracket was the culprit that caused my car not too start without the smartkey plugged in, and all the electrical to not function including the Nav screen. It was just a tad bit loose.
