  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I know 2nd Gen can recognize 2 different memory seat settings. As part of seat memory, does it also know to adjust for "lumbar support" and the "seat bolster adjustment" when changing to a different memory seat ( if you have the tech or ultimate version)?

Not only does it remember all seat settings but it also remembers steering wheel & mirror settings. Awesome feature. I set 1 for around town type driving and the other for long distance driving with the extender pushed all the way out.

Does your Significant Other use setting #3?

Despite having the bolster position set in memory, It retracts / extends every time the car is either started or stopped. Shouldn't the position of the bolster remain in place? The easy access is off.

As far as I know that's proper operation. OOPS: IIRC, that only happens with a seat memory position change.

I wish we had a 3rd position and memory for the passenger.

I have noticed a peculiarity with the memory seat operation. My wife likes being high in the seat for her setting and I like being low for my setting. While all the other setting do change accordingly the seat height does’ not. I know because if I don’t hit my setting before I get in I always hit my head when entering quite annoying really. I have to remember to hit the button for my position before I get in. All other aspects of the operation work as expected but the actual seat height does not. A strange oversight.

Easily accomplished by setting memory without the seat extended and then extend the leg extension manually. Now everything but the leg extension will easy access when starting or stopping the car.

I have mine programmed in with it fully extended and it does not retract every time I shut off the car.

Just to clarify, I was referring to the movement of the side bolsters, not the thigh extension. The thigh extension remains fixed once programmed. It's the side bolsters that are moving every time the ignition is used.

Agreed, the side bolsters do retract each time. I have mine set so it all moves out of the way for easy entry. Not sure if you turn that feature off if it will still move or not.

Hi everyone. I am new here. Is it possible on the Genesis '15 for the memorized seat position to automatically come up based on the key fob that you use to enter the car.

Nope... They don't have that capability which makes no sense since that technology has been around awhile.

I wonder why Hyundai made the driver memory feature only remember a new setting (program a setting to memory buttons #1 or #2) while the car is standing still? I like to adjust my seats, wheel and mirrors in actual driving conditions because I'm never really happy with my 'static' memory settings.

I found this to be an annoying feature on my last car, many times me and the wife would use one another's key FOB. Also I tweak the seat sometimes to find a more preferential position. When you get out and back in, the Damn thing would be moved back to the present automatically.

Of course, having the option along with the ability to switch it off would have been best, still the lack of FOB based seat changes was a welcome surprise.

To each their own. I miss the feature myself. My wife and I keep our keys separate. Her car has seat memory tied to keyfob and I really like it.

This is not a Hyundai only thing - many if not all cars will not allow some settings to be set while the car is in motion. Why? Because while you are adjusting, trying, looking in mirrors, you are supposed to be focused on driving while moving. Those memory settings (seats, mirrors, etc.) can be set the same with the car in park just as well. If you make a change you like while driving, leave it and set it when stopped.

It is also a safety setting in that if you were to click the wrong setting and it move you way out of reach of critical controls while moving, that would be bad. You can make individual adjustments as needed, but not switch memory.

Yep. This feature has been around for a long time with other brands. We had them as early as the 90s in Fords. They also stopped setting or changing seat position with the memory positions while in drive. Smart. A bit of a nanny control thing, would prefer that to be optional setting to stop the memory change while in drive.
