If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Hello. I just made the move to Hyundai after years of Ford products. I purchased a 2011 Genesis 4.6 fully loaded sedan. Great car so far with 20,000 miles on it. I am learning how to operate the many features but have a question about something I cannot seem to figure out and was hoping for some help here.

I cannot seem to get he seat memory to function correctly. If I set the steering wheel/seat to easy entry/exit. Whenever I enter the car, the steering wheel doesn't return to the setting I have saved. It always goes much lower than it should and I have to move it back up using the tilt button. I read in the owners manual that in order to save the setting, I am supposed to press the memory button and hear a beep. Then press either the 1 or 2 button and hear two beeps. But I never hear two beeps, only one beep. I tried many times. Also, I am not sure if it is synced with the smart key or not as I have no idea which key is for 1 and which is for 2. So I have some confusion going on with regards to how this whole thing works in general and why the steering wheel never goes to the "saved" position.

I would greatly appreciate some help with this if anyone can.

So far I really love this car. So impressed :)

Thanks!

I don't believe the seat memory is sync'd to the key fob - unfortunately. You have to be in park when using the seat memory including storing it. If you place the car in drive the seat will stop moving so if you press a memory button you have to wait for the seat to reach position before shifting out of park.

Hi. Thanks for your reply. Yes, I have done this only in Park.

The main issue is that the Steering Wheel never goes back to where I set it. The wheel always goes far lower for some reason.

Have you gone through the DIS and checked the appropriate boxes in order to save your settings? That's my only suggestion ATM.

I think I have. But I will go back in and take a look. Maybe I missed something.

For now, I just disabled the easy entry/exit feature.

I am amazed by the sound system in this car. So maybe I got distracted. LOL

I too love the sound system. There are so many bells and whistles on new cars these days till it's like taking computer programming all over!!

Hope you get your problem fixed. If not take it to your dealer. They'll be able to help, plus it is still under warranty unless it has over 50K miles.

I bought it with 26k miles on it. It's still fresh :D

It does take some time to.master all the features. I.have 120,000 miles on my Genesis and can say it's the most reliable car I have owned. And I have owed BMW, Acura, GM, Ford, Mercedes.

I hate to be the harbinger of bad news but for some unknown reason getting the wheel to return to the "memory" setting is beyond Hyundai's ability with the Genny.

I have had the switch that controls the steering column motor replaced no less than 3 times twice by me and once by the previous owner. (it is a KNOWN problem with this car model) Yet to this day I have not had a dealer that can fix the wheel not returning the the "saved" position.

Sorry I have no solution to your problem, I can offer only sympathy.

Probably programmed by the same guy who programmed the user interface for the ipod connection. Lol

I finally just disabled the feature and left it alone. Thanks for the heads up.
