Hi everyone: I need help identifying a problem I've had with my 2010 Genesis 3.8. I have 10,000 miles now and kept hoping it would go away but it hasn't. I'd like to have some info BEFORE I bring it in for service as the local service dept. was not helpful at all with my steering wheel memory [or lack thereof!] issue.
Every morning when I back out of the driveway, there is a loud metallic screech from the car. It also sometimes happens at other times of the day. I researched here and thought it was the "brakes develop rust overnight in wet conditions" issue, but then I started backing up this week WITHOUT USING THE BRAKES and the screech is still there. Here's the kicker. I have to turn the steering wheel to back down our driveway as it is NOT a straight shot. It happens when I turn the steering wheel.
Any ideas what this could be? I backed in today so I could pull out straight tomorrow morning [while turning steering wheel] to see if it also happens when pulling forward but I don't expect it will.
Thanks!
