Mileage with 3.3T: What a surprise.

Use 93 octane, car has 600 miles, just about all driving within the 20-50 mph on local streets and within community. Have Custom set to Eco/sport steering. I fish almost every day around sunset, and it is about 4.5 miles to my fishing spot. Most of the drive is in Custom doing between 35 and 50, and I get about 21mpg. The other day, I tried straight Eco on the trip and the car averaged about 28mpg, with as high as 37mpg at certain times during the trip. Never saw these high mpg's registered before??? Could there be a difference between my Custom and straight Eco? I doubt it. Could it have been that I was making fewer stops and my speed was rather constant??? Maybe I didn't step on the gas as much? Anyway, 28mpg was a new revelation to me.

Nice! The car can be decent on fuel if you keep the RPM's down. Personally I came from a truck (v8) so I could care less about the mileage in this car as it is relatively so good. Now driving the car spiritedly will show you some lower figures. lol Come December i'm doing about a 5000km roundtrip so it will be nice to see what the gas mileage will average on something like that. I'll post.

Also note the gauge built into the car can be up to 3mpg high or so.

Recent 5-hour trip speed to Cape Cod between 64 and 72 mph. Going trip 30 mpg coming back 29 mpg. That’s actually calculated at the pump not electronic reading which was higher. Not that I would care if it was less but it’s a good reflection on the engine.

Pretty good both ways. Down hill to the Cape would account for the 1 mpg difference.

Ah, relatively good mileage continues. Just did a 100 mile round trip with a total of 4 people in the car...the added weight does make a difference in mpg. 90% of the trip was highway at 75-80 mph, the other part of the trip was at about 35-45mph on street roads. All travel was n Eco and average mpg was 26, which I feel was pretty good.

My 2014 Lexus GS 350 would get between 17-20 mpg mixed driving and that's taking it easy. Terrible gas mileage vs the 3.3T which is much more powerful and fun.

Right now I'm avging mid 20+ mpg mixed driving with the G70 switching between comfort and sport with the occasional heavy foot. Real impressed.

Did a trip out to Fresno this weekend. Round trip averaged somewhere around 23-25mpg (can't remember). And we were FLYING most of the drive there/back. I used to be a bit skeptical about the "good mpg," but this has me convinced the car runs pretty efficiently if you can maintain your speed on flat land

Yes I too have had very good mileage on the road, but I mostly blast around town and get approximately 14mpg. However, that's ok because I kinda of expected that.

I typically get about 21 mpg (indicated on dash) with a 3.3 AWD, but also drive it in sport mode 100% of the time, because I loathe the car in any other mode.

That's not super-great, but seeing the numbers people are getting in other modes makes me feel less bad about keeping it in sport all the time.

Depending on how much (or little in this case) stop-and-go traffic you sit in, you can still get good (I've hit 27mpg indicated on the way to work) mileage in sport mode. You just have to be a sensitive about your throttle inputs. It's pretty obvious that 20% throttle in Sport and 20% throttke in Eco are completely different areas of the pedal stroke

I just drove from Albany to NYC and averaged 27 mpg. Some elevation changes and averaging about 80, so not bad.

My in-town mileage is LOL

As a Fly Fisherman myself, I have to say that the Peacock Bass in your Profile Picture is a Monster for Florida, assuming that's where you caught it. What did that one weigh? Is that your biggest?
I have caught a few in the Miami Canals, but only to about 8 pounds.

I take the highway to work every day (90% highway driving) and I am averaging ~18-19 MPG and I am BABYING the car because of the low mileage. I used to fill up my prior car (which was a V8) every seven days and the gas tank was only 0.8 gallons bigger than the G70. Right now, I need to fill up every four days...

I don't even care about the gas mileage, I just don't want to have to go to the gas station every four days, lol.

Check your hand calculated gas mileage. Also how many miles/km one way? Sounds off, but if your accurate there has to be an explanation.

I wonder if it’s how you’re driving since you’re used to a v8. Turbo engines can actually be more inefficient if you keep the rpms low but the throttle more depressed, using the turbos more. I’ve found better gas mileage by using sport mode and managing the throttle to keep my rpms around 2.5k to 3.5k and my turbo pressure at around 0 according to the gauge. I can manage an indicated 28 mpg doing mostly freeway driving by doing this. Of course I go into cruise control on the freeway to hit top gear, and this applies mostly to the city driving on the way to/from the freeway and traffic situations

I am going to hand calculate when I fill up tomorrow. I almost feel like something has to be wrong because of how poor the gas mileage has been. 23 miles each way, 90% of it is highway. Outside of some trips to the gym which are also 50% highway, the car has been driven to and from work exclusively. The poor gas mileage and a ROUGH shift from first to second/second to third gear when the car is cold are the only "complaints" I have. To further explain this a little, my job has a parking garage where I am normally driving under 15 MPH and the shifts are pretty jerky. RPM's are very low when the car shifts so it might just be that. When the car warms up, it seems to get slightly better but still not great. Anyone else notice this?

I adore the car so far, I'm just hoping there isn't something wrong with it.
