My Genesis has 8,000 miles on it. I started up one day last week and the dash began displaying numerous system faults and failures. Numerous "Check XXX system" messages. The car would drive but transmission kept cycling through different gears and the steering wheel had no feel to it all.
Then a message popped up on the Nav display telling me the car had serious problems and push this button to contact BlueLink. Immediately the BlueLink rep came on line and looked at the fault codes. He said the car needs to go to shop now and made all the arrangements with the dealer right away. I drove it straight there.
All the failures were due to the right rear wheel speed sensor failing...the car could not figure out it's true speed. Fixed up and running good again...very happy with dealership.
As an aside, if you are considering which engine to get, the dealer loaned me a new 3.8 Genesis for the several days it took to get mine fixed. Driving it for several hundred miles convinced me the 5.0 is a much better car to drive. The difference in torque during everyday driving is very noticeable and the 3.8 always seems to be running up to much higher rpm's before the next shift. Also, the tires on the 3.8 (Michelins) were extremely noisy.
Finally, the dealer also replaced my tires (tire recall) and I like the new Continentals even better than the Hankooks. Very quiet and great performance.
