My 2012 Genesis is a LEMON! (TIC)

I think my 2012 Genesis 3.8 w/Premium is a lemon!

I do NOT have NAV problems like others; my Genesis rides smoothly on all road conditions; my Genesis does not knock, shake on a cold start; I get somewhere around 30+ mpg on pure highway driving; I get about 22 mpg for my normal weekly driving; my automatic windshield wipers work properly and do not streak my windows; my trunk doesn't open unless I specifically engage it to do so; my bluetooth works seamlessly for both phone and streaming music; and, my seats are very comfortable.

I wonder if I should return my Geneisis? LOL!

I love this car!

I would return it because its not getting 23mpg on daily driving. What was Hyundai thinking when building such a car.

The violent shaking only happens with 4.6 Tau engine (not sure about 5.0 Tau), and only if the engine was not fully warmed up the last time it was shut down.

Damn, At least it's not just me then.

I kept my 2009 3.8 Tech for two years just to make sure this condition was permanent. Now I've replicated it with my 2011 3.8 Tech.

I'm having the same issues as Zakdaddy, i.e. absolutely nothing wrong with the car at all!

I love my Genesis too!

UPDATE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..... HYUNDAI SENT ME A DEALER CREDIT GOOD FOR 6 MONTHS $250.00 .... AND SAID MORE OR LESS WE CAN'T FIX IT HAVE A NICE DAY !!!!! I guess it's something but HYUNDAI can kiss my ass I'm done and will never buy another HYUNDAI again.

Sorry to hear of your problems and can fully understand where you are coming from. I too just felt it was no longer worth it and traded my 2010 Genesis 4.6 9,200 miles 1.5 year old in for a 2012 Buick LaCrosse Premium II with all options except for rear seat entertainment and could not be happier.
As the interest rates are lower than they will ever be I decided that this was the best time for me to make the trade. I took a little bit of a loss but it will all work out in the end.
When I walked away from Lexus I said that would be my last foreign car and that I would never put that kind of money in a car again but I saw the Genesis and fell for all the hype.
I am now done with Hyundai and have no plans to buy foreign again as if I am going to get ripped off I would prefer it be a domestic.

If you don't like your car, it's your problem, not ours or Hyundai's. Buy a Rolls Royce and I'm sure your "problem" experience with dealers and the car will be much different. Better or worse, I don't know, but it is still a car, not a piece of gold.

It is because of the mind set of that Hyundai Rep that some of the issues of the Genesis are not being resolved and the same problems that some previous years owner had are now showing up in the 2012's.
The cost of the car should not be an easy cop out for not doing what is right. Just because it is a Genesis and not a Rolls or Lexus by no way means that you should except anything......................................................................

Actually, this was when the Genesis was 1st introduced years ago when it was new, and the point......Don't expect the world out of a car that's $40,000, but people want $400,000 expectations out of a Luxury class as example out of the Lexus, Infinity, Merc, BMW forums.

The point is the same problems are still being reported by 2012' owners. Hyundai has had more than enough time to properly address the tilt wheel,audio/nav and cold start issues, why have they not done so because this is not a $400,000 dollar car and to expect them to do so is expecting to much. No, people are not trying to make the Genesis a Luxury Class car, Hyundai is . You may want to study up on why the Genesis in Korea carries the Wing Emblems and not the H Emblem and also the reason for the Wings not being put on the Genesis marketed for the US. Maybe after you have done your home work you will see things a little differently and than again maybe not.
News Flash !!!!!! Go to the thread Electronics in car a joke. An owner who has only had their 2012 Genesis for 10 days has just reported the audio/nav failure, you may want to go over there and tell them it is not a $400,000 dollar car and that is what they get for $40,000.
