- I live in Arnprior, Ontario, Canada.
Prior to going to Myers Hyundai, I visited two other Hyundai dealerships in the Ottawa area.
I was interested in a 2009 Genesis V6 3.8L 4 door sedan with a cabernet red pearl exterior and a cashmere leather interior along with the premium package.
I had the Car Cost Canada price (wholesale price) paid by the dealership in Canada for that vehicle.
After a short discussion, both dealerships came down $2000.00 from the MSRP of $39,995.00 Canadian.
The amount of money that they offered for my trade-in became the point of contention.
One dealership was offering$ 8,000.00 and the other $9,000.00.
The color that I wanted for the Genesis was not available at these two dealerships and they would have had to get the car from another dealer in some other city in Ontario.
I then decided to go at the Myers Hyundai dealership. Upon arrival, I asked to see the new car sales manager.
I was introduced to her and I told her that I was interested in buying a new 2009 Genesis of a certain color and that if we could come to some agreement, I was prepared to buy the car on that day.
After a short discussion, she gave me the same price as the other two dealerships for the Genesis.
But the difference was that after viewing my trade-in, she offered $10,500.00 which was $1,500.00 more than the best offer that I had thus far.
This dealership did not have in stock the Genesis with the color that I wanted.
She found one in the Toronto area and they would have to get it shipped to their dealership in Ottawa on a float at a cost of about $600.00.
She said that I would have to pay for this extra cost or at least share the cost with them.
I suggested to her that if she (dealership) would absorb the full shipping cost for the Genesis, I would not try to get her to give me more for my trade-in and that we would have a deal.
She accepted and I purchased the car on the spot.
They ordered the vehicle and I took possession of it eight days later.
This experience with Myers Hyundai was a very pleasant one and my wife and I felt that it was the less stressful
car purchasing experience that we ever had. We purchased 18 or 19 vehicles over the years.
I would recommend Myers Hyundai to anyone who is interested in a Hyundai vehicle.
Take care,
