Been here awhile...
Update on the Genesis sedan of my views.
I had the day off today, and been able to go down to the same Hyundai dealership that I visited before, here are my updated thoughts.
I have tried the seats on the black one that had the sticker price of $40,000. I remember the last time I was there, the price for the car inside the showroom was $36,000. Yes, it was the tech package that they didn't have before, I found out when I found that little knob inside.
Styling wise, my view haven't changed, that I still think it's too generic looking and too plain so that it won't really turn head unless they know about the car and was looking for it in the street while driving. The interior also, my view haven't changed, EXCEPT one thing. It's seats.
First of all, the door, one thing I hated with all the imports was that the door was too light and felt cheap, Genesis's door didn't feel as heavy as American cars, but it's got a bit of a weight in there that I didn't experienced on their sonatas, or Camry's. It was still not as weighty as a big American sedans, but I kinda liked the big thump of the door close that I haven't noticed in other imports so far, so, to me, that's a score one for Hyundai.
I got inside the car, and the first thing I tested was the seat's materials. I was pleasantly surpriced. It was really soft to the touch, and could feel the quality was there, even though I had a tough time finding my comfortable driving position, and to me, in comfort wise, it was rather firmer than I'd like and wasn't really comfy as I was used to the American sedans. Next thing I looked for was the front visibility. I will give it a solid B+. It was decent, and in a way it was better than my Grand Prix, which sits lower, but still, I wanted it to have a bit more opened view for this class of car. Could be just me since I am rather short. Next, the door trims. The door trims is one thing that I hated the most. The brown just isn't my style. I am not sure if there is another choice, but the brown just didn't go together with the black interior, also, the door was too thin to my style. I prefer the American sedans, heavy, big doors with a thick doorframes, that most imports don't give you that are heavy and when you close it, you can hear a big thump.
The interior room however, surpasses everything I've driven so far. Sure, it may not be a Rolls-Royce, or a Limousine, it was like one of the most spacious sedans I've been on, import or domestic. I tried the rear seats as well, and again, there are so much space there is, for 3 full size adults and then some.
I guess, for this car, you really have to test the interior to really see what it is made of.
I still have a lot of complaints btw, but since this site does not like me since I am the only one that does not like the car, if you want to read it whole, just visit my site's thread here:

I already made a whole lot of enemies in this site, so that is what I am going to do, and since I know most people just don't like reading.
