  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My car has not been run for eight days. due to me having an operation and all the recovery time at home.

I filled the tank on Tuesday A/M, 8/24 and parked it in my garage. My wife used our Continental to take me to the Hospital on the morning of Wednesday, 8/25 up in Ocala FL, 50 miles from home and they operated the same day. Sent me home in the afternoon of Thursday, 8/26 (don't keep em in the hospital very long) and told not to drive. Did not want to drive, as I've been in pain, although now a little better. Tomorrow morning, we are driving to the doctors office in Oxford (The Villages) FL, 30 miles from home. We will take the Genesis.

Genesis has not been touched for all those days. Hope I don't run into problems with the car not running for all those days, as I've read of some guys on this BB having trouble when their car sat.

I'll let you know when I return from doctors visit, and if I'm allowed to drive.

I don't think there's anything to worry about Bob. Mine sat all last winter (no charger on it either) and it fired right up last April with no problem at all.

Hope you feel better soon too:D

Mine has sat for weeks-on-end in both winter cold and sumer heat.
Never a problem.

Better check the tires for flat spots just to be sure. :D
Hope you heal soon and are back behind the wheel.

Your Genesis should run just fine, praying the same for you.
Get well soon!!!!

Good you're worrying about the Genesis......sure sign you'll be back to normal real fast. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Typical guy.... more worried about his car than himself.

I hope you feel better soon. Keep those spirits up!

Bob,

Forget about the Genny. How'd the operation go? I'm getting up there in years and might need a good reference. :D

As for the Genny...for an 8-day stint I'd put 'er up on jack stands, dump a bottle of gas stabilizer in the tank, disconnect the battery, and put a good car cover on her (just joking ;), but that's what I used to do when I went on those 6-month WestPac deployments).

Keep us posted on how you're doing.

Went out this morning, and she started right up. Drove to doctor and back, no problems.

Will post in the Owners Lounge more about my operation.
