Been here awhile...
So today in installed a TON of various blue LEDS from v-leds.com in my car. I love it, it looks really nice. V-leds is a great company to deal with and has amazing prices IMO. I changed the courtesty lights, footwell lights, and front/rear dome/map lights to blue and the license plate lights to a "cool white". they blue is a very nice shade of deep blue and the white license plate is SUPER bright white with a tiny hint of blue. Overall it looks really nice and I'm very pleased.
HOW TO FINALLY CHANGE TO DOME LIGHTS!!!
From what I can tell, i am the first person to figure out how to change the interior dome lights to aftermarket. as you may know, Hyundai does not use a standard bulb in the dome lights that can be replaced, but i have figured it out! its not that hard actually....
when inside the front or rear dome/map light housing, you will see 3 wires attached to the already existing LED circuit board.....
cut and strip the wires or de-solder them from the led board. (as you can see, i cut in the middle of the wires and stripped and soldered from there.
you are going to splice the black and yellowish (im color deficient so i have no idea of this is yellow) wires from the dome light together and connect that connection to the negative/black connection of your light. then you are going to connect the red wire from the dome light to your LEDs red/positive connection.... (sorry if that didnt make much sense, im extremely tired. heres a diagram to show how simple this is.)
ENJOY
i believe this is 12V of straight power so if your LED doesn't have a resistor built in, you might want to be careful.
sorry for the extremely crapy pic, they are much brighter in person.
these are the LEDs i used
